For toys such as the Soul of Chogokin series, that do not have figures tied down with ties (at least from what I can see), with a window panel that can flip out and the toys just taken out, what would be the definition of MISB? Would it just be the clear sticky tape being intact? Because I know some downright geniuses who can actually remove the sticky tape, then replace it without anyone knowing.
Were there ever any transformers after G1 that came in a similar fashion, without ties, just a tray you could slide out?
MISB Definition?

In other words just as it comes off of the assemble line before being packed away.
Some may argue it means other stuff, but they are fools trying to steal your hard earned money.
Shun them away, away, away I say!

Agreed, the tapes that close the box have to be intact, and the box cannot have visible signs of having been open.
In other words "Sealed" is the operative word here.

MISB means MISB. Ive seen ebay auctions discribed as MISB then the sellers explains he opened it to check if its complete then put it away.

I choose to keep my collection in both, MISB ( Mint in Sealed Box) and also in MIB ( Mint In Box)...MIB is fun because it's like trying to open the box, display the figure, then place into the box as if it had never been opened, and the only thing that happened is that thew tape seal was broken.. it's an art form..though i can't help feeling at times as if I'm training to become a burgalar...
but that's why i love the Japanese and Korean boxed merchandise, it's easier to do the MIB thing and to replace the toy back in packaging as if nothing ever happened.. akin to the Masterpiece toys..from Takara Tomy..
I just hate twistie ties, they suck and are really uneccessary when you consider how the Masterpiece toys are packaged.. it's simply a way to hamper theft, which is a mega sign of corporate greed..
I used to work at Wal-Mart, their theft and security department would make the FBI blush..

I suppose you could make the argument that you could take a MIB figure and seal it up carefully and call that MISB. But that defeats the spirit of the term. Technically that would be 're-sealed'. Once the seal is broken, it's broken.
The key thing about MISB is that it should be Unopened.
Maybe, given all the chancers out there, we should have a new term like MISUB(Mint In Sealed Unopened Box). I don't see any getting around that, but really it shouldn't be necessary.
The way I see it, an MISB toy is like a virgin toy. Once you loose your virginity, that's it, there's no getting it back. It doesn't make any difference if you abstain from that point on. And likewise it doesn't make any difference if you only transformed it once and put it back in the box -> it has lost it's MISB virginity, and that's final.

You know I've often wondered about how many smart asses decide to remove a toy, replace it with rocks or other weight, and then reseal. And then the next MISB collector who buys if off him, refuses to open it to keep it MISB, and carries home to display a box of rocks...
