rampage was more depthcharge's nemesis, not so much dinobot's. If you are going to cross him with someone I would think it would be him.

He wasn't Dinobot's nemesis - that's not why he's crossing them. Remember Rampage and TM2 Dinobot shared a spark.
Megatron extracted Rampage's spark and kept it with him to torture him if he went out of line; when he created TM2 Dinobot, he gave Rampage's spark to him.

I'm not quite sure why they'd wind up merged as a single character, but I'm intrigued to see how you'd make it work.

sorry i explained this in the main thread but forgot to elaborate here.i'm contemplating renaming dinobot and dinobot2 for the purposes of being set in g1 so as to distinguish them from the dinobot subgroup.thus db2 becoming rampage but the more i think about it the less enthused i am about it.i just can't think of an appropriate modern character to turn him into

Hmm. Are you saying that a couple of existing G1 characters are actually Dinobot and TM2 DB, or that you're assigning them new names and forms to assimilate them into the G1 universe?

If it's the latter, then Rampage is already probably a bad idea, due to the fact that there's already a well-known one out there (the Predacon tiger).

I'm trying to help with possible names, but for some reason I'm drawing a complete blank at the mo. I think I need to go to bed...

or is it that because of time shifts in BW, now G1 is slightly different ie. more characters.

It makes a huge difference in how you feel about time travel. If you believe in multi verse (more characters, slightly different than G1 continuity)...

or is it more like predestination, they went back in time and think they changed things but really it always happened that way and we just didn't know it the first time around. That would be the... Nautilator is actually (and always has been) a reformatted BW rampage way of thinking.

it's the latter.....damn it i forgot about predaking's rampage.great now i am back to the drawing board on db2 and ramps,namewise(alt mode too for ramps)
