there is some debate going on and i want to end this once and for all....

i,ve deduced that with the available material that elita-1,s alt mode is a car.... you can see with the pics bellow my arguments....

1. you can notice by the cartoon that there is allot of similiarities with blurr (who,s a car)
2. you can see the front end and beside prime dont you think it,s a car just at looking at the heigth of elita-1 in vehicle mode compare to prime and if it was a truck then she,d be higher ?

so i patiently await to see what you have to say even if it differs from my opinion !!!

I think it difficult to say for certain what elita-1's alt mode is. I would assume based on G1 disregard for physically possible transformations and proportions, I would guess the artist was going for a femine bot and didn't care what the alt mode was or how she transformed in and out of it.

Having said that I believe she is a car. I can see no evidence of a truck bed. you could assume her arms form a bed because you see her arms swing forward but it looks more like they came from nowhere and only do that so the mechanics of it would be hidden behind prime.

This is the closest to an accurate Elita-One transformation as you can get.

This is based upon what we see of her actual transformation and vehicle mode from the cartoon, as well as her comic book appearance. Whether you want to call this a car or a truck, and whether there should be one or two pair of rear wheels, is up for interpretation, but this is the closest to an accurate transformation and vehicle mode there is.

To be honest, to my eye her transformation seems to basically involve standing up. I can't tell whether her arms come from behind her or under her, but it looks like the whole vehicle basically pivots up onto its front end, a plate comes up to cover the chest, arms come from somewhere and her head flips back. I'd have to guess it's some kind of car, although considering how much you see in that clip, and how much morphing there is, that's a proper guess, and I haven't seen the comic to get any more perspective.

From what I've seen from the cartoon clip the arms come from behind. The design Tramp has there is very nice, and I would love to see one like that. It makes sence too, Prime being a truck, and Elita-1 being his equal in the same type of form. Having her as a race car is cool too, but she should be "better" looking and tougher than Arcee.

Only cartoon detail Tramp's pic doesn't have is in the cartoon clip her chest is formed by part of the front of the car.

That's true because the robot mode is based more on her Dreamwave comic book appearance. Unfortunately, we have no comicbook reference for her vehicle mode.
And, the fact that she is Optimus Prime's counterpart places more veracity to her being some form of truck in vehicle mode.

Just because she's Prime's girl doesn't make her a truck. Moonracer is a car but is also Powerglide's girl. Firestar is a Pickup type and Chromia is a minivan type vehicle so they do have some correspondence to Inferno and Ironhide but but none of that points to what Elita-1 actually is. Thats an assumption your making with no real facts to back it up.

And in fact if you want to use the few other Cybertronian pickup design we've seen as references. Kup and Firestar are really the only to and both have the windshield in front of the front wheels rather then behind it and they seem to favor a cab over design.

From what I see, she looks alot like Arcee did in the movie in car mode and looks a bit like Blurr as well, so I have to say CAR!! :roll:

From the info Tramp has provided I deduce she is a car. A cross between Blurr and Hot Rod, thus a car. Maybe an El Camino type car, but a car still.
Alita-1 is not a Prime. A girl truck would be butch and Prime don't swing dat way. whispers...'ELLLL Camiiiiinnnooo'

There are other kinds of trucks besides pick-ups, and I never said she was a pickup truck. Also, it isn't because she is Prime's girl, that points to her being a truck. It is her station as his counterpart—as leader—among the female Autobots. All Autobot leaders, have been trucks of some form.

i don't seewhy cybertronian trucks would be needed in g1, since if wheeljack could store bumblebee and a pile or steel beams in the first ep, and if rachet could hold ironhide inside himself in ambulance mode, then 'truck' worthy items could be held by vans or cars

Vans are a type of truck, you know, and that is what both Ratchet and Ironhode are Ratchet is a Cherry Vanette van turned into an ambulance. Wheeljack's Cybertronian alternate mode is also "van" like, not a car. He was a truck before he got his Earth mode. Ironhide's Cybertronian mode was also a transport truck. They were all trucks, and very sleek trucks at that, but still trucks.

Who cares about a van being a van or truck or boat and crap like that. Either way, a Van is a larger vehical than a car, and that's all that needs to be known.

and I think I'm going to need to agree with Tramp on this one. if you look at the majority of the "leaders" or "primes", they are all a larger vehical of some sort. Or they are something that's Tougher, or Faster than the rest of the team. I only say faster because of Override in Cybertron. But in almost every series ESPECIALLY G1, the leaders are bigger than the rest. Which would lead me to believe Elita-1 would be better as a larger vehical rather than a car like arcee or Blurr. I base this opinion on the fact of my size class statement, and the just logic of the situation.

well the majority has spoken and like most ,i think elita-1 is a car.... that,s my opinion and the way that i envision it so this project will reflect what I believe.... I ACCEPT CONSTRUCTIVE REMARKS but not flat out "i know best and you dont " if you see a car great !! if you see a truck then it,s your choice BUT try to remember that this is a personnal project.... and the end result will tell if it,s a succes or not.....

To be honest, I always felt the Cybertron's Override/Nitro Convoy most resembles Elita-One. The main reason is, she like Override, carries a lot of Prime-based features, yet transforms into a sports car/racer mode. On both, the shoulders and helmet share similarities.

(Which is why I want HASBRO to mass-produce a Elita-One repaint of Override/Nitro Convoy -- but with more stable thigh joints.)
