Classics Megatron KO Upgraded?

Postby Liege Evilmus » Sun Dec 30, 2007 12:32 pm

Passing some time I was window shopping on Ebay and stumbled across a KO Classics Megatron.

I know that they're all over, but these have working lights, sounds and are selling for only $10(less international shipping of $20)

But it just has me wondering, if a KO company could pull this off, why not Hasbro, hell they couldn't even give us a clear scope :???:

Well anyhow, take a look...

Weapon: Indepentently Targetable Particle Beam Cannons
Optimus Megs? MegaPrime? Interesting to see Megs in red a blue.

As for Hasbro forgoing the light, probably because it poses too many risks, and fails the child safety tests they have to pass.

I doubt that, there are plenty of lighted laser type toys out there. Even still, that's no excuse to scimp on the sound?

The addition of lights and sounds to Classics Megatron would have been bad because he was meant to be in the same class as Classics Optimus Prime.

Now when you add lights and sounds, that's going to bump the price up. Plus you're going to have parents going "oh ... well these are the same sized toys roughly, yet this one has lights and sounds, this is a bit of a rip off".

So my guess, done to keep Prime and Megatron on an "equal footing" so to speak, and to keep the price down.

I see your point, but LED/LCD lights are inexpensive. They are also usualy in abundance in various figures that are much cheaper than a voyager TF(like these kos). The same can just as easily be said for sound gimmicks.

Hell, I can get both light up and speaker toys at the dollar store!

So realy, in the end, it comes down to once again Hasbro being lazy. Classics Megatron is an easy candidate for electronics, Prime would be the same issue as G2 Laser Prime or Armada Prime.

A light up fist and some light piping weapons can go a long way...

As to the idea of it being work, boo hoo! I gotta bust my ass everyday for the money I spend on these things. Is it to much to ask that they offer more bang for my buck than a KO of all things!?!

Considering that you can buy a light at a dollar store, you could have added a light real cheap. Maybe sound too. I'd have paid $25 for a "lights and sound" Megatron. Get on that "Premium Classics" line Hasbro!
