In need of a decent looking Megatron
I need a Megatron for the stop motion film I'm working on. He's the only one I'm missing as of now, and I really don't like the movie version of him, never have. So far I have a lot of the movie line figures, including Voyager Prime. I'm planning on using him and not purchasing the Leader Class Prime because I just think he's too bulky and he's very out of scale with the other movie figures. I also don't to pay $40 for him knowing the Premium figures are coming out soon. So I need a Megatron that sizes up good with Voyager Prime so I can get to work on this thing. How difficult is it to find Armada or Energon Megs nowadays? and if they are too big what Megatron would you guys recommend instead?
thanks

I would recommend an Armada Megs, definitely my favourite Megatron by far.
I got mine at bigbadtoystore.com for $44.99 plus shipping, to stand in for Megs in my Classics collection.
I think he'd look pretty good fighting movie Prime too.

Well you can always use Beast Wars Megatron (the 10th anniversary one) cause he's about the same size as movie voyager prime and he looks realy cool. anyway i love that figure.

Re: In need of a decent looking Megatron
I think all of the Megatrons they're coming out with for TF:Animated look just spiffy. Cybertronian Megs even manages to combine the best qualities of Movie Megatron with the original.
But you probably don't want to wait that long.
I too didn't want any incarnation of Movie Megs, but eventually caved in when they had the leader on sale. Still haven't opened it, so I can't really comment, but at least he doesn't have the all that stupid looking ice.
One advantage of using Leader Megs vs Voyager Optimus, is you'll have a more imposing villain. That always makes for a better dynamic.

Re: In need of a decent looking Megatron
i wouldn't recommend Armada Megs jsut because he isn't the most poseable Megatron out there. this toy's just brick! (but a VERY FUN brick, if i may add
).
don't get me wrong, i dearly like mine to heck, but if you're planning a stop-motion feature you should go for poseability, and Armada Megatron (while he looks awesome and all) will just give you a few arm movements for your trouble.

Looks-wise, I like the Titanium WW megs, but he's kinda small and has little to no articulation. How about voyager Classics Megs? Technicolor rules all!

Yeah Classics Megatron is nice, but every place I find one they want around $50 for it. I'd almost buy a knock off of him if I could find it

That mightn't be the worst idea. Tons of them on ebay. All that's really going to matter is how it looks on camera, and even the most basic repaint can work wonders.

Just wondering, what might I type in to find a KO on Ebay? I've tried knock off Transformers, KO Transformers, KO Megatron, Knock Off Classics Megatron

btw you guys have been extremely helpful so far, I'm always amazed at how quick my questions get answered

Well, there used to be tons of them on ebay.

of course you really do get what you pay for with KOs, but I've found them fun for repainting, because it's not hard to improve them, and no big loss if you ruin them.

Re: In need of a decent looking Megatron
I've seen the Beast Wars Dragon Megatron at Big Lots. He's only $10, I think and should be decent in size.
Even though his vehicle mode (if you can even call it that) sucks, Movie Leader Megs does have a cool robot mode. And I remember someone posted it on this forum before, but Leader Megs has some newly discovered alt vehicle modes, as well. Someone was really bored and transformed Megs around into other things.
