Your Top 5 "Desk" Transformers
Now what I mean by "desk" Transformers are ones that are just fun to fiddle with as a distraction (ie. one you'd put on your desk for when you're bored or thinking".
This whole train of thought came up because while home for my reading week, I wanted to bring only a few TFs back to school with me to put on my desk for when I'm bored, but ones that will actually be fun to have around. In the past I've had the big guns or ones that look good, but they're not always the most fun to play around with.
I decided to bring the 6 Energon cars (Hot Shot, Inferno, Downshift, Prowl, Rodimus, and Towline) because they have the added fun factor with combinations, but otherwise, based only on individual merits, I would have gone with:
1. Cybertron Armorhide
2. Cybertron Ransack
3. Armada Perceptor
4. Energon Starscream
5. Classics Optimus Prime
So who are in your top 5? Based purely on fun factor alone?

I can't answer this. Believe me I'm realy thinking about it, but I can't give you an answer.
For me it's more of a coffee table situation, and the figures are rotated constantly.
As for fun factor, I just have to many to muddle the count.

RID Ultra Magnus with 3 deluxe cars of your choice (that fit inside of him, preferably), and I recommend one of them being 08 bee, just because he's one of the more fun of that sub-group.
A long with those 4 I'd have to say... Energon Landmine. He's got the tow line to interact with those 3 deluxe cars and hearing the transformation sound never gets old.

See, I was gonna say omega prime, but he's just too big for me to put him into the scenario given. Too much goes into the combination and transformation to be one of those guys to just mess around with on campus. I guess you could have fun with the sounds though, haha.

Star Saber(combined)
Armada Galvatron(or Megatron)
G1 Prime
any Alt or BT
None of them are overly large and I think are loads of fun.
Star Saber can be wielded by Galvatron or Starscream to give them
that extra boost of power too.

Well, I keep Optimash Prime on my desk at wwork permanently, but I usually bring a couple or 3 TFs to work daily, on a rotating basis. Sometimes it's to mod them, sometimes just to pose or take pics.
Lately tho, when I take a couple minutes to fiddle w/ one of them, the same product engineer walks up to my cube to ask me a question or something- the same guy, like 3 times now, w/ diffrerent TFs each time. Must think I'm a nut or something.
Which I am, I guess, but I don't want everyone to know that...

Re: Your Top 5 "Desk" Transformers
There are usually more and its usually filled with my most recent ones(and i got into collecting recently so I don't have a ton of figures. no alternators or masterpiece. only one classic, jetfire) But there are 5 I always keep there
So the top 5 desk transformers are:
1. Scourge
2. Bumblebee
3. Landmine or Stockade
4. Soundwave
5. Jetfire

You know what got me a lot of small talk from every single person to pass my desk? Music Lable Soundwave. That little musical bastard got quite the workout that day. Everyone wanted to transform it or see me do it.

Re: Your Top 5 "Desk" Transformers
well, i only have a cubicle-type deal, so i don't have a lot of room to work with, but right now i just have the autobot robot heroes on the desk. i usually have a revltech there with me, but i'm not confident enough to leave it there over night. but i'm thinking about getting a deluxe for the single purpose of desk duty... except i've no idea how much longer i want to be there

I tend to play with my Legends and Real gears, because they're simple and sturdy enough to play around with. All my TFs are on a shelf just above my desk so I can access any of them pretty easily, but I guess for this list I'd say:
Longview
Spy Shot 6
Cybertron Shortound
Movie Legends Ratchet
Legends Evac

Re: Your Top 5 "Desk" Transformers
At home I have a somewhat cluttered desk..Not much room to put transformers with everybody coming, going and leaving their stuff there when they use the computer. So this is what I have sitting there currently, or are going to be sitting there soon.
1. Several Mini-Con teams-Armada Emergency, Dark Saber and Classics Clear Skies Team sit in vehicle mode (or beast mode for Nightscream the dragon) on my desk.
2. Movie legends- the 'movie cars' segment, Bumblebee, Barricade, Jazz and Ratchet. I tend to play with Jazz and Bumblebee more though.
3. Movie legends-'larger vehicles' segment, Blackout, Starscream, Optimus Prime and Megatron. All lined up on top of a box I keep my old Micro Machines in (before I got restarted on transformers I used to love 'em, and bought quite a few sets off Ebay.
4. Soon-to-be-placed Allspark Camshaft-Probably after I've posted this he'll be standing on my desk, gun out, probably aiming at the minicons or perhaps Megatron. (Not even your fusion cannon will save you now! Haha!)
5. Alternators Jaguar XK Ravage-This guy prowls the right side of my desk sometimes, in front of the printer. He's quite fun to pose.
Well, not exactly a top five, as I don't really know what's my biggest favourite outta these. But at least you know what's watching me as I use the computer now! (And of course, what I play with from time to time)
