I plan on getting a few of Takara's Henkei repaints sooner than later, and I wanted to know if anyone has done, or is planning to do, the ol' wing mod to thier Henkei Megatron?

i would, when the u.s. one came out i repainted it my self and took off the wings. i remember i was so pissed when it came out that they had come so close to making a sweet megatron fig but f***** it up with the horrible colors and those damn wing things...

but now i own masterpiece megatron so i probablly wouldnt mess with it...

i do not own the figure, but when I saw reviews, I saw the potential to connect the wings using a standard round peg. Sad.

I own a HENKEI MEGATRON, and I don't have any problems with his "wings". Let's face it, the Classics and Henkei lines are based from G1 characters with MODERN ENHANCEMENTS.

Although it was initially due to a mistransformation, I actually leave the wings up on mine (as in, rather than having the gun barrel sections pointing down, they point up).

Aside from looking cleaner with outside sections facing forward, it also makes him look a little more menacing as the wings are significantly taller this way and so are more imposing.

Granted, the colors are better(no neon green plastic), but what about posing him? The wings make him back heavy unless these are some how lighter than Hasbro's. I hated having to tilt him forward a bit to balance him. Is the wieght distribution as much of a problem? I know this modification effects more than just aesthetics.

That looks like the wings are folded back, rather than up.

What I meant was that the square panel that holds the wings is folded up from the trigger, rather than down (so Megatron has something immediately behind his head).

The wings on mine are inverted from what the instructions say to do. Like this, even stooped over he's taller than MP Starscream.

I actualy don't mind the wings. I would prefer a bot without them, but in the end they ad a nice feel to the figure, almost like a cloak.

How would you even go about making the wings removable? I've found those pins impossible to remove....

OK, again looks aside, do the wings make him as back heavy as Hasbro's
