I've got some questions about what's going on with the anime coloured Masterpiece Starscream.

I've been reasing that MP-07 is going to be an anime-coloured Starscream, with the impression that it's yet to be released.

Yet on Action HQ, it looks like takara released it a couple of months ago already.

Takara:

Hasbro:

So is this the proper Takara version or not? If it is, why on earth is Takara selling for $20 less than Hasbro?

Something weird's going on here in my mind, can someone fill me in on what the deal is? I want to buy a Starscream, but I hear the Takara one will have reduced weathering on him, but the picture there still looks like Starscream's just as blackened as the Hasbro version.

Yes, that is the proper MP-07 Masterpiece Starscream. I have no idea why they went with the Hasbro style box. You need to look for the blue Takara sticker to tell if its the Takara version. Take a look at the picture at the bottom of this page for Takara Masterpiece Starscream

Differences are the Takara version has less weathering and its edges havent been rounded off, wing tips etc.

So the Takara version, which hasn't been gimped, and looks better, is $20 cheaper?

The takara version has the purple decepticon logo on the nose cone too

my guess is since action-hq is in hong kong, it's cheaper for them to get the takara version than it is to import the wal-mart exclusive hasbro version.

I think they are probably made in the same factory, no point tooling up two different production lines to make the same thing.
