Anyone swapping Botcon Grimlock's shoulders?
I finally found the time to finish swapping my grimlock's shoulders today, and although theres a little gap that cannot be closed in the middle, it still looks way better than it did before. While I was doing this, I thought up a question and wanted to ask the people on the forum. If you haven't guessed the question by now from the topic, I wanted to know: Has anyone taken their Botcon Grimlock and swapped his shoulders so the nails dont show in bot mode?

Alright, yeah, that always bugged me too.
That and the left leg constantly falling off.

I did.
It is not as easy as it looks if you want to really do it right, but at the same time it is not difficult.
You do have to unscrew the two obvious screws on each side.
Once open, you need to take off the little three sided boxes (joined with three screws) and switch them.
Swap the shoulder pieces so you can put them with the screws facing backwards. Screw them in.
You will notice that some of the plastic from the three sided box gets in the way, either causing you to have a gap in the shoulder joint or it interferes with the range of movement of each arm. You need to cut a sliver off with an exacto knife or clippers (see underarm photo). The plastic is quite soft, so be careful.
Once switched, the screws will not be facing forward in bot mode, but in alt mode you will see them. Such is the trade off.
Alternatively, if you found a matching paint you could just touch-up the screws and forego the switch.
Since I will have my Grimlock in bot mode most the time, I decided to switch. Enjoy the snapshots.

nice, and thanks for sharing the pictures. Cutting the little ring off sounds a bit hard so i'll just leave mine as is for now. However, if i get bored again and feel like i should get rid of it in the future, i may go back and do it.

No problem.
You don't cut a ring off, though. Just a little sliver of plastic so the bottom piece of the underarm can move freely. Look at the third picture. See the big gap at the top of the underarm? That used to be on the bottom. Cutting a little sliver off the bottom after the switch literally gives him some elbow room!
