Already? It was a line that underachieved IMO. The movie toys could have been better.

That was a fun day. My brother and I were at TRU when they opened. It was exciting seeing everything for the first time especially since we were a month away from the movie.

Not sure if I should create a new topic for this so i'll put it here.
At one year after the Movie toys were first released how are your figures fairing.
Is the dreaded Automorph still functional? Have the joints held up still tight? Or are they now a floppy mess?
After one year what is the overall status of the toys most people claimed would break in less than a year.
In my case I hardly ever pick up Ironhide anymore. Though his automorph still works well. But he's been in robot mode for the past 6 to 8 moths. No transformations for him.
Ratchet is fine. He gets transformed a bit more.
Brawl is now forever confined in Tank Mode. His head is now so loose it won't stay up in robot mode.
And finally Starscream, he's been transformed quite a bit. And is still in very good shape.

It has been quite a year for Transformers. At first, I wasn't sure what to think of the new TF look. Then, later in the summer, I was one of those crazies who searched high and low for 08 BB—good times!
As for the toys holding together: I am concerned about that thin piece of plastic that Ironhide's blue waist piece clips into; I've transformed him several times without any problems so far.
I'm excited about the TF2 figures, but I'm also glad we are still getting Universe in order to maintain the standard Transformer toy aesthetic we know and love.

I've got a question....
I assume Bumblebee will continue on being a Camaro, Optimus a Truck and so on.....
How will the toys for Transformers 2 be different? I guess they can give Bumblebee something like an SRT package but what about the others. I don't believe I would wanna buy the exact same figures all over again?
Any Ideas???????????

Re: Happy Anniversary, Movie Toys!!
Most of my movie figs are still in good shape, but most of them are also in storage so to speak. The only ones that stay out all the time are the BBs, Primes & G1 Repaint Jazz.
The movie line was a bit disappointing, I'm glad it's winding down.

Re: Happy Anniversary, Movie Toys!!
Yeah, I'm pretty glad this is coming to an end. I liked the Real Gear stuff, and some of the Cybertron repaints, but the actual Movie toys as a group really weren't that outstanding. Actually, I think the non-movie characters (Stockade, Landmine, etc) were better than a lot of the characters who were in the film.

For anyone who hasn't seen Spotlight: Sledge (and why not?!), my gritty and dark fanfiction piece "Holiday" is posted here.

All my movie figs are in great shape - automorph works well etc.
The only thing that doesn't work is that pushing Brawl's main canon doesn't make the firing sounds.
I pose and transform all my figures a lot and everything is still great.
Don't forget that G1 Hound had an automorph feature and my one still works quite well!
Overcracker - what's wrong with Brawl's head? Is it the whole plate his head is on that doesn't stay up or just the ball joint? If it's the latter, try tightening the screw underneath - you can access it in tank mode easily. If it's the whole plate that won't stay up, put some card in there to support it.
