Modding Universe Acid Storm / Classics Starscream?
I just snagged a Universe 2.0 Acid Storm figure at Walmart.
Just couldn't resist the green Seeker model, because I figure he'll go well with Masterpiece Starscream.
Overall, I like Acid Storm, but there's a few little details that just annoy me a bit.
His head doesn't move. At all.
He's got no hip joint (e.g., his pelvis is fused to his torso).
The nosecone and half of his cockpit is sticking up behind his head.
Now I know I can't do anything about the first two.
There's no way I can add a neck or hips to him. Oh well.
But is there any way to make that nosecone/cockpit/backpack piece rotate so that it sits behind his shoulders?
Just a little something that would make it rotate 90 degrees in either direction, really.
Since Acid Storm is a repaint of Starscream, I thought maybe someone's come up with a way to mod this mold.
Just wondered.
Thanks in advance.

Are you sure it's transformed correctly?
The nosecone should be point straight down.
Also, he does have a neck, his head turns from side to side. If it's really tight, sometimes swiveling it via the nosecone (which is connected to the back of his head) will turn the head.

His head moves left and right. If you pull on thew nose cone left or right it will move the head with it.
The nose cone should sit behind his head, but just lower than the head. Yes its visible but not too much.
As for hip joints
He does have hip joints they are ball joints that let the legs move up and down and spread apart a bit
They are limited by the wing section behind them.
He does not however had a waist joint.

Yeah, I thought their heads moved.
Made me doubt myself there.

Re: Modding Universe Acid Storm / Classics Starscream?
I stand corrected: The head does move.
The joint was just rather tight, so I assumed it wasn't really a joint.
(Didn't want to break him, after all.)
As for the nosecone...
Yeah, it's down all the way, But it still sticks up as high as the shoulder pauldron vent whatchamacallits.
Call me picky, but it's the only really and truly annoying thing about the mold.
I was going to upload an illustration of the annoyance, but I keep getting an error message.
Something about "Could not upload attachment to ./files/47085_935cc846621066a6d62ff22ba95fe77c"
Strange, eh?

Yeah, I don't know why we can't post pics. You need to put a pic on Photobucket then add the pic code to the post. There are four codes to chose from, I can't remember which one works.
But why did you think a delux would go well with a MP? Bit of a size difference there...

I just like having different sizes of similar molds.
Like a WST Megatron with a G1 Megatron, y'know?
I guess it's the Dr. Evil and Mini-Me thing, I dunno.

Re: Modding Universe Acid Storm / Classics Starscream?
Acid Storm is the only Universe 2.0 figure I've gotten so far, and he's the only copy of the mold I have.
No regrets on buying him, even if he does have a few quirks.
Now, is it wrong of me to put his null-ray cannons in his hands (like guns) instead of hanging them from his forearms?
I know that the arm placement is canon and all that, but it really screwed up the figure's poseability.
That and I just kind of like the way his cannons look as handguns. Lol...

Course not, he's your figure, pose him how you want! I also have him posed that way, and I think it helps differentiate him a little bit more from the other seekers.

Glad I'm not the only one who does it. Lol...
Not that I'd've cared if I was.
Now to sit and wait for my Universe Tread Bolt to get here.
