There's something fishy, and it's not Gnaw...
Many of you guys don't like the new Devastator because his individual components can't transform. I don't like it either. But that being said, because they don't have to design individual transforming combiners, they could make Devastator so badass and versatile. Well, they didn't. This is saddening because we have to pay 100 bucks for a Devastator that doesn't transform or look that badass.

Is it really worth complaining about it so much when we've yet to see it in any real detail?

You could have posted this in one of the existing Devastator threads, but anyway...
I disagree with you about his badass-ness. I think the Devastator is very badass. I won't buy it for several reasons ('cons don't transform, too expensive, too hard to display); but I do think he's awesome looking.

Well if we want a devastator, we do.

I actually think he looks pretty damn awesome...I too wish his parts transformed but that's not going to stop me from getting him...He's going to make a fantastic display piece...

QFT.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I think I'll wait for the G1 repaint, but just cos I'm generally more interested in combiners that have a unified paint scheme.
I'm sure that bit we saw of him isn't all I somehow think he can change his robot mode a bit.

Scramble city!
Actually I WOULD be curious to see this in G1 colours...I doubt I'd BUY it...But I wouldn't mind seeing it...

Hmmm, G1 repaint-I hadn't thought of that but a cool idea.
I don't necessarliy like him but I know lots of folks who do. Given the press this figures gotten, it'll sell big time. But I agree with some earlier comments-I'm not going to get him because he's just too darn big for the space I have for my stuff. Plus, I have to wonder how stable he actually is.

I am just hugely dissapointed that the separate 'cons don't transform. that really does suck pretty bad. So, if his individual parts don't transform, then what's the point one him coming apart at all? He might as well be a great big Robot Replica from how i am understanding him to be. Is that the case? Just wondering because it seems like a waste to do it that way.

Re: There's something fishy, and it's not Gnaw...
I think you're a bit off about this figure PR, the individual parts will transform into their vehicle modes but not their individual robot modes. A lot of people seem to just type that they don't transform rather than saying specificly that they don't transform into robots. The other versions being released will transform from robot to vehicle but don't have the ability to combine.
I can't see a G1 scheme hitting shelves this year. At the price I honestly believe that the gestalt set will be a shelf warmer and be on clearance long before the holidays. A G1 repaint is almost asured in the fullness of time but it will more likely be something that we'll see in a couple of years time alongside the third (and I pray final) Bay abomination.

As it looked like he had a clear plastic support under his bum in the Botcon pics I'd say not very. He looks very top-heavy.
He doesn't even look well articulated. Can't even turn his head. And so overpriced - pay 20 for a truck with no robot mode? Not me. I'm very disappointed in this figure.

i think he is cool and all but if his individual parts transformed then he might be kind of wobboly and week leaving a very distasteful product

Thanks for clarifying. I was a little bit confused on the matter. I am still disappointed, but not quite in the same way. I'm not sure I can shell out $100 for it, but we'll see.
Is this toy actually going to be called Devastator in the movie, since Brawl used that name in the first movie? I don't know how all that is supposed to pan out.

You probably won't need to. I can see this set being over produced and not selling particularly fast at full price. Hold off until a few months after the hype around the movie's died down and you'll likely have no trouble finding it on clearance for closer to $50.

I will take you advise on that. Hopefully that is what happens. I could see putting out $50, or at least less than $100 for it.

You don't have to pay.
Shhh... stop giving him hints. He's supposed to figure that out on his own.

Just kidding. In all seriousness, to respond to your question -what were you hoping with the figure, aside from having the vehicles transform into individual robots? The one thing that I think would help this figure would be to have moving limbs. Not sure if it can do that.

Speaking of waiting to buy Devastator on clearance, my latest experiences with WalMart has led me to lose all faith in their "clearance" stuff.
Remember that 25th Anniversary Prime that was popping up in WalMart clearance aisles for $10? About a month ago, I found some in roughed up boxes in the clearance aisle at my local WM. Unfortunately, they still rang up at full price at the register. So I waited and tried again last week. Still rings up at full price, and the manager swears to me that $80 (or whatever it was) is indeed the clearance price, and he doesn't understand how any WalMart could have it marked at any other price. I really hate WalMart.

Well, for the record, I'm not going to pay for any of this middle of the road transformation BS either.

Yeah my Walmart has it on clearance at $69.73...Which is 26 cents less than it was before...
