Let's be fair, if it doesn't transform, it isn't a TransFormer.

6 vehicles transform into Devastator. Devastator transforms into 6 vehicles.

You know, when i first saw the movie, i was disappointed and a bit upset that while devastator was climbing the pyramid Mix Master, Long Haul, Scraper, and Rampage were fighting in the desert. Didn't make sense to me at all. Now that i read this thread,....
Hey. Still a little disappointed, but it is what it is right? No use in crying over spilled milk.
After i get some bills payed off, i will be getting devastator. I really do like the design, and fits in with the movie universe quite well.

Yes! Good call.

Now that I have actually seen the movie it seems pretty obvious that Devastator is his own unique character that transformers into six (or seven if you count Overload) construction vehicles. I really wish they had not used Demolisher, Rampage, Longhaul, and Mixmaster as individual characters now and replaced them with other non-construction vehicle Decepticons. Having all these construction vehicles just makes thing confusing especially to the casual movie goer. I also noticed that Demolisher's alt mode was very different from the the excavator that is part of Devastator. Demolisher transformed into a much smaller track hoe like you might see on any construction site, the Devastator excavator was much beefier and would probably only be seen at a large scale mining operation.

Now that I've seen the movie, while I suppose it's more accurate to the film that these figures don't individually transform, I'm even less likely to get the combining figure (if that's even possible.) Had Devastator been a super awesome badass in the movie that left you in complete awe it may have caused a moment of interest or desire in having that representation in toy form. As it turns out, Devastator is a wuss that can barely hold off the Jar Jar twins, gets pwned by a stupid boat gun, and really adds nothing to the movie but an opportunity to sell more toys.

But in the end I am left having to admit to Hasbro doing the right thing with the Constructicon toys. Had they been a traditional combining set I probably would have bought them despite everything. But since I find the movie Devastator a lamer, the Voltron-style toy a copout, and the individual figures terribly unappealing (save maybe Long Haul,) I'm now quite glad they weren't made to be tempting. A happy pass...thank you, Hasbro.

So as far as I can tell, and from what I have seen...

there are 4 standalone Constructicons right now:

Demolisher (Voyager)
Mixmaster (Voyager)
Rampage (Deluxe)
Long Haul (Voyager) Unreleased

Does anyone else remember seeing any other constructicons with Robot modes in the movie or toy listings? I haven't yet, but part of me was hoping we'd get a full 6 and have a crane bot and a frontloader.

I recall seeing someone fire a wrecking ball that took out some ruins. I'm really hoping we'll see a Wrecking Ball constructicon.

I gotta concur wholeheartedly with CP on this one. Prior to seeing the movie I told myself I wouldn't get any Constructicon thinking Hasbro would release a trasnforming and combining Devastator some time in the future. But after seeing the movie and how cool the individual bots were (Long Hail, Rampage, etc) and not getting a definitive who's-who on who exactly combined to form Devastator and whether or not we saw them in bot modes I changed my mind and have since picked up every Constructicon out so far.

i agree, i wish they used different constriction vehicles for devastator, rather than the same ones, with the same colors for both the individual bots, and the ones that form him.

between the 6 or so that form him, plus long haul, rampage, and mixmaster, basically all construction vehicles not including demolisher, you have 9-10 constriction vehicles, in the middle of the desert. i guess they must have decided before crashing down on earth that they wanted to be construction vehicles, because I don't know what they need a wrecking ball constructicon for in the middle of the desert.
