Amazon Japan has posted a video presentation of upcoming Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MP-09 Rodimus Convoy.
In this video, we can see various gimmicks of the figure, whether in the form of Hot Rodimus or Rodimus Convoy.
The video also showcasing the trailer of Rodimus Convoy convert to a "Mobile Defense Bay".

So pleased they went the Retro/Cartoon accurate route with this... It's like the HotRod we wished for after watching the movie. Very nice

Nice view of the matrix there.

I really wish they'd used a better shade of grey for the face & hands though. Rather, I wish they'd used silver like inside the trailer. They are robots after all, most every other Takara figure including MPs has had a silver face. Maybe they were going for cartoon accuracy, but it makes him look bland and dull.

I'm really torn on whether I want to get this or wait for Hasbro's. I suppose I can wait and see because I can't afford it right now anyway.

hey just to let you know that it's confirmed that hasbro's version is only the hotrod portion of this figure and it's not gonna come with the trailer or matrix.

i just hope hasbro changes their minds cuz that would really suck major balls.

Yup, despite Rodimus Prime's cab just a shell over a transformed car (how else could they get 4 modes out of it, seriously) this is nothing short of a beautiful Masterpiece. I do intend to get two anyway so I will be picking up TakaraTomy's for Rodimus Prime and Hasbro's for Hot Rod.

Wow, that is pretty nice, my only complaint is his back pack orces the wings to sit so far back in robot mode... o well.

also, i understand that the engineering of this thing probably forced this but...with that being said, the matrix is in his belly and not his chest... so does that mean he's pregnant? lol j/k

I'm pretty sure that is where Rodimus kept the matrix in the show.

What?! I was mad enough that Hasbro was leaving off the trailer, but no Matrix?? Can anyone confirm whether this is true or not? Say it ain't so.

What the hell are they thinking? Why would they drop the Matrix? If I wasn't convinced before to try and get the Takara version over Hasbro's, despite being unable to afford it, I am completely convinced by Hasbro's exclusion of the Matrix. If this is true, there's *no way* I would get the Hasbro version. I know it's extreme, but I would rather do without than get such a stripped version. May as well be a knock-off.

Calm thyself, young one. Habro stated in a TFCC interview that: "(Hasbro): (Roddy) will not include th trailer as seen in the Takara Tomy version, but we will make sure that he has his own, unique accessories." He will have his matrix just like the MP Optimus released back a few years.

Hello Everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster....

Do you think the back pack bulk will cause balance issues? I have a horrible feeling Rodimus won't stand up well without that stand that seems to appear in the shots?

Fingers crossed this isn't the case as this figure is awesome!

Well, the stand is probably required for rotational purposes. I doubt that it will be released if it can't stand up. If it does, I doubt it will be as bad as Masterpiece Megatron though. Anyone else sad that we aren't getting a tiny Daniel figure to ride inside Hot Rod (come on Hasbro, there's a decent extra for your release)?

Where did you hear it confirmed? So far, that has only been a rumor.
