Looking at the toys for the video game War For Cybertron I have to ask which do you prefer. The War for Cybertron toys/designs or the War Within toys/designs.
For the most part I'd have to lean towards War Within. There more G1ish.
What do y'all think?

War For Cybertron. It's rough around the edges, gives you more of a 'pre-Earth days' look.

I'm loving War for Cybertron, game and toys (the two I have anyway).

Hmm, WW Prime had some weak joints, but the design was pretty good. Grimlock, the seekers, Megatron and Prowl weren't too bad, though. Prowl's wings were a bit too big, but overall not too shabby.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Well, of the ones we saw, certain War Within "pre-earth" designs looked more like what we saw at the beginning of MTMTE pt 1 back in the 80's - specifically Bumblebee. I suspect that (if they're in there) Jazz and Prowl won't look as much like their G1 MTMTE incarnations in WFC, either.
HOWEVER, toy-wise, WFC is much better IMHO so far. WWI Seekers were very well done for Ti's, though their missing lower rear sections in jet mode does some damage; Grimlock is decent; Prowl wasn't so hot, unfortunately. Prime was too early in the game to have benefited from any of the lessons the Ti designers learned as they made TFs, Megatron was just "Lay down and move the guns", and Jetfire was remarkably clumsy. The best of the WWI figures, however, just HAD to be Ti WWI The Fallen... and yet every single one of the WFC figures I have seen so far at least match this quality, if not rapidly surpass it.

Re: War for Cybertron vs. War Within
Not really fair to compare the toys as the titanium series in general was flawed so war for cybertron wins hands down. As for the design of the characters I like war within a little bit more as they don't suffer from the chunky (look at those seekers, someone need to lay off the energon goodies) style of the war for cybertron. Saying that I do like the transtech vibe I get from their design.

If Hasbro follows their old 80's practice of cost cutting (changing metal parts into plastic) they can resurrect the "Titanium" line sans the metal parts. Then maybe we can appreciate WWI Optimus the way he was meant to be enjoyed...without the f*ckin' paint chipping.

I wish they would, I only skipped titanium because of the metal. If they ever do a War Within optimus again I want a trailer as well.

I vote WFC.
WW toys look chunkier, and die-cast toys always make me worry about chipping paint.
