I watched up to episode 7 and so far, we clearly see that Predaking is a VERY inteligent individual. Yes, of course I said "individual" and not "beast".

Are the ancient Predacon's transforming ability locked away, or they dont even have a T-kog? One thing might be certain is Predaking is looking forward to see more of his brothers come back to life... and maybe taking over the Decepticons! But first, Predaking must find his robot mode.

So, is Predaking going to transform, or do Hasbro are just trolling us with toys of beasts that "can transform" and the rest of the cast appart OP who take some armor, without them ever appearing in the show?

It is possible that the Predacons aren't able to transform and are given transformable toys just so that the toys WOULD transform. The main gimmick of all (well, most) Transformers toys is that they transform. Even if the characters lack or never display the ability in fiction.
Haven't we had some toys of characters, who haven't transformed, before?

Althought in G1, Grimlock seem to hate his robot mode. At least 90% of the time, he remain in T-Rex mode.

Movie Scorponok and Ravage come to mind. High Wire, Sureshock and Grindor, in their Energon forms, come close as they were shown in robot mode only once in the cartoon, and in Beast Wars, Ravage transformed into a cassette (again, only once), while the toy transformed from a biped jaguar... to a quadruped one.

In Victory, the Dino Pretenders never transformed into their alt. modes during the series, discounting the partial transformation into...was it Dinoking?(Monstructor repaint).

The tfwiki said Armada Overload only appeared in robot mode, in the background of an episode, once, for like a fraction of a second. He did have a full robot appearance(mini-con and all) in the pack in comics at least.

There's also ROTF Fallen's never seen jet mode(unless it popped up in the comics or video games), and Soundwave never transformed to robot mode onscreen in ROTF either.

Still, I think the biggest similarity and example I can think of for the posed question is the Seacons and Firecons from Masterforce. They never transformed into robot mode during the series, and there was never a suggestion they even had one outside of Halfshell appearing in robot mode in a manga(thank you tfwiki for all your obscure knowledge!)

A good recent Example is The Fallen from Revenge of the Fallen; he lacked an alt mode in the movie (or at the very least, never transformed) but his toy had a jet mode.

I'm under the impression Predacons don't transform in TF Prime. Or if he can indeed transform, they're keeping it for the final battle; Predaking is one of the few character in TF Prime who wasn't killed off shortly after his first appearance. So I'm under the assumption that if does have the ability to transform they're keeping it for the big battle at the end of the season. But my gut says he can't transform.

I'm pretty sure Predaking will probably have a robot mode. Plenty of times they have made subtle hints to him just being a "stupid" beast by Starscream, only to show a reaction from Predaking himself as if he understood the insult. Not to mention, Peter Mensah is credited as his voice actor(why give a non transforming robot a voice), so my assumption is that he will ultimately transform and speak to the surprise of all the Decepticons except Shockwave. Shockwave knows everything.

By the way, I will point out that Predaking was NEVER reffered to as "Predaking" so far. It's either "the predacon" or "the beast".

I look forward to see Predaking rise in robot mode, shouting "STFU YOU TWITS! I. AM. PREDAKING!" :michaelbay:

Thanks! Glad to contribute! I can't wait to see Predaking transform and see Starscream's reaction. But I am really hoping that they show which other Predacons will be in the show so that I can purchase the figures.
