I think almost all of us would agree on that! :BOT:

As much as I'm going to love this Bruticus (and the extra Swindle I'm obviously going to get), I'm kinda bummed that they didn't didn't make a Devastator. While it would've killed Maketoys as a company in an instant (which would SUUUCK) it would have infuriated all the Hercules owners beyond the internets ability to contain. :BOOM:

I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro does get around to Devy sooner or later, but Bruticus has a tie-in to promote him, and...well, they love Bruticus. There's been what, 8thousand or so repaints and different versions of him or his component parts?

I'm not surprised. As we've recently seen, anything bearing the name Devastator must now (apparently) somehow relate to that monstrosity from TF2.

I'm sad about that too.

If this one sells, they'll certainly do more and I gotta think Devastator would be right up there.

The ideal of how limited Hercules might be was definitely a cause for me to preorder each figure, regardless of the full prototype of all 6 figures being shown. Thankfully, all that waiting is about to pay off next week when the last two figures get to me.

I don't think there's anything else for good ole Herc coming down the line. TFC has other projects scheduled, which we've actually seen prototypes of.

I don't think TFC will make anything for Herc, but I'm sure some other 3rd party company will make a more toon accurate head for him. I think enough people have him to make a demand for it .... even if it'll take a year or two.

I'd be annoyed if Hasbro came out with a new G1-esque Devestator, but I'd still be glad to have bought Herc. Actually, I'm kinda tempted by the real Classics Devestator ... but he's too pricey to buy on a whim.

But ... Menasaur. Finish up the first series of Decepticon combiners classics style! I don't know why Hasbro never did Menasaur since 90% of all TFs are cars!

Not sure if a Hasbro Devastator would kill MakeToys' sales, but being an owner of (most of) Hercules, I would not be disappointed about putting such an investment in getting this guy. He's been a lot of fun collecting, and I don't think an official version would be as beefy or capture some of the same elements. The huge crane for Exgraver or even Dr. Hook's extension have to be much bigger than what Hasbro would plan. And, again... Voyager-sized figures!

I welcome Hasbro to come up with a revised Devastator, as long as it doesn't have the ROTF aesthetic.

Why would having the option of buying another Devastator make Devastator fans angry?

The only way this could possibly irritate me would be if Hasbro released something otherwise identical to Hercules with improved QC and/or for a much lower price, which simply won't happen.

It seems like you have a serious case of sour grapes going towards Hercules. It creates curiosity about your motivations.

I do, by the way, hope that Fall of Cybertron Bruticus causes a market crash for ROTF Bruticus and Fansproject's Munitioner and Explorer; I'd like to buy two more sets for closer to original retail.

For that matter, I wouldn't really mind if Hercules sells for below retail in the future, since I only have one of my planned three sets completed at this point.

hadn't really thought about that. It would be nice to get them for a price I'm willing, and able, to pay. If FOC Bruticus is really good though, I might just hunt for Munitioner, as he's a perfect Swindle.

Honestly, Hasbro Devvy or not, I'm satisfied with Herc.

So, gimme the Technobots or Predacons next, then maybe the Stunticons. After that, it's a grab bag.

As an owner of Herc, I'd still welcome a Hasbro offering. Not sure they could top Herc, but I'd be happy to find out at retail prices.

xyl360 wrote:Good points. For the first issue, I'd say play it safe and wait next time to see what all final versions in the set will look like and for the shipping issue, I bought them off of BBTS so they went into my POL with many other purchases, which saved me a bunch on shipping.

Of course, it's tough to wait on something like this when staggered because we also never know how many they'll produce and by the time the last figure in a set gets released, the first figure or two might be sold out and out of production. Yeah, I was trying to play it safe and not miss out. Although had they kept Structor's shovel/Herc's foot black, I woulda bailed early and sold off the first two at whatever loss. But at 4 deep, I didn't want to take that much of a loss, and at least Neckbreaker's blade doesn't hurt Herc's mode much.

there is no way in hell Hasbro is going to make a new cityformer!

Well, if Hasbro is willing to dabble with playsets (re: DOTM Ark and that new Optimal Maximus for TF Prime) for the smaller scale, anything is possible.

But, remember the children! Wouldn't a Fort Max backyard playset be THE BEST THING EVER!!! Hell, I think someone should make one and have a Seibertron party...

Perhaps, but then what are all those extra connector plugs on Dr Crank for? It was something emgo316 brought up in his review of the figure, I checked mine, and there are several that have absolutely no use in any mode, making me suspect that either another figure or two is coming to combine it in a different way, or there's some hidden combined mode that TFC hasn't shown us yet.

Considering most of my modern tf's are Masterpiece and binaltech figures, I would LOVE to see a G1-accurate Superion with realistic jets done to the scale of the MP seekers (Silverbolt to the scale of MP Megatron and original MP Prime), with the same display base for each as the seekers have. That said, the thing would be huge, expensive, and would make my recently completed Herc figure look tiny in comparison. I also have a soft spot for the Seacons, as it was the only gestalt I ever completed back in the 80's (okay, I never had Seawing, but the figure being a targetmaster, it all worked out).

That Freakin' Geek!!!

I see the two "extra" pegs, wasn't there a suggestions that Dr. Crank's alt mode could use them as a stabilizer? I really don't know if this is a real world application or not.

My other thought is that the two pegs keep the robot mode symmetrical.

AFAIK, TFC never agreed or disagreed with what the actual "surprise" was supposed to be. Either that the visor was coming, or that the last two figures would be ready months before the expected release. Also, didn't they post that they were looking at other, non-Transformers projects next? Odd statement, as we've already seen the Reflector and PCC limbs.

I'll keep my mind open regarding more Herc pieces from TFC, but wouldn't they have given us a hint/glimpse of this product by now?

*and just after posting this, I read TFC will be a guest at Animation on Demand http://www.aodsf.org/aod/about/ in two weekends and have some "special announcement". Let's see if speculations will come to fruition.*

The bottom connectors can be used as stabilizers, but the two on the side that fold inward on itself in Herc mode are useless, but you may be right, it could just be for symmetry.

As for whether or not they would have told us by now, your guess is as good as mine. They were in an awful hurry to get the last two out the door for some reason, though that could have just been to have theirs done before MT got theirs out.

I sure hope they do have something else up their sleeves for Herc though, because anything that could make an awesome bot like that even more awesome is just like piling awesome on top of awesome, and lets face it, that's just AWESOME :P!
