So now that I have HFTD deluxe Ironhide, I'm thinking of picking up a deluxe Ratchet too... but I'm not sure which one to get. DOTM has a Mechtech weapon that looks pretty cool, but the HFTD Rescue Ratchet has a nice G1-style colour scheme. Is there any significant difference between these figs? I think they are different molds, so which is superior?

Every opinion I have seen seems to say the DOTM is superior. I do not own the HFTD mold, but I do have the DOTM deluxe. And he is good. Very good, everything the voyager could have, should have, and would have been if given more attention.

I never gave DotM Ratchet much thought since I thought it was just a repaint. He does look better than the RotF one, I just might pick it up.

I have both deluxe molds.

HFTD: too leggy, darn they are long. Ball joint neck but WTF he can't even turn his head because the collar gets in the way. Hip kibble is annoying.

DOTM: they've captured the bulkiness and he's pretty poseable. Hollow backpack is the only major drawback and the weapon (even though I hate mechtech) is loads of fun. It's amazing how long one can spend playing with it!

While DOTM Ratchet mabey slightly smaller its very clean cut unlike the ROTF/HFTD versions it does not!! have his arms and legs poking out the sides like a crab ready to leg it ,I myself realy like the G1 colour HFTD Ratchet my main problems are his hands there realy crap.

I almost got the HFTD Ratchet that was the repaint with the red and white but when I got a in hand look at his head I thought what a POS! So what I want to know now is will upcoming Speacialist Ratchet be just another repaint or is this a new head sculpt perhaps? :VEHI:

BTW I feel that Henkei Ratchet is by far the best. Only flaw is the flip for his head, it can never be fully flipped out where the balljoint of the head is connected to. Its just slightly uneven (sorry if there's confusion) and I'm always tempted to apply force. So there it is Henkei Ratchet all the way folks....'nuff said! :VEHI:

I completely agree, but my guess is that this is about movie Ratchet.

Is that the red version of ratchet thats coming because i think it's definate that he's gonna be a repaint as it will be the first of that mould.

Ooooh, I forgot about specialist Ratchet... I might wait for him, I rather like the red.

And yes, I was thinking about movie-verse figs, sorry I didn't specify!

So if the DOTM mold is arguably better, then I think that will be my purchase. Thanks!
