Played it the other day at my brother's(I don't own a X-Box or a 360), so I don't know anything about the story, me, him, and some other guys just played Multi. And it was fun, but I gotta admit, wasn't THAT much better than Halo 2 multi, but maybe it's cause we were all getting used to it.

And I drove the Elephant, it was like I had read about, slow, and kinda useless unless you have a team. But when we did a team, it was pretty fun.

And I like the Gravity Hammer(we call it the "Boom Stick!"), really cool. Love how it can disinegrate a Mongoose with one hit, and blow up one of those plasma energy tanks with a few hits. My two new favorite weapon's are some kind of close range pistol that looks like a gattling gun or something, and some other kind of sub-machine gun with a blade on the bottom. Like I said, I don't really know what they're called.

I'm still waiting on mine. Stupid Best Buy couldn't recognize my university mailing address, so I had to mail it back home and have my parents send it up to me

Yeah, found out while waiting in line to get Halo 3 to wait until the credits are over for extra cinematics.

The ending was awesome. Even before the stuff after the credits, the ending was damned good, although they could have explained it a bit better.

Now I'm pretty much going to go through and collect all the skulls, then probably pick up my X-box live account again and start playing some multi.

I just ordered Halo 3 and an Xbox 360!

Yeah, I thought the ending was pretty cool...one thing that kinda dissapointed me, though (I don't suppose this is a spoiler).....I had heard that sometime in the game Master Chief was supposed to take his helmet off & you could see his face.....but that never happened. He kept it on the whole time.

Anywho....I'm trying it on legendary now....never really played any Halo game over normal, so...it's....it's pretty frustrating. I do like, however, how that if you keep dying in one particular area they keep progressing your checkpoints to kinda help you through the larger groups so every time you die more of the bad guys stay dead.

No, Master Chief was never supposed to take his mask off so you could see it in Halo 3. He did take off the mask at the end of Halo 1, but the camera moved so you couldn't see the face. And there is a mod, and some videos out there that let you see the chiefs face in Halo 1. However, Bungie never really made a face for John-117, we just get the mask.

Halo 3 seems cool.
But if I want it that means I'll have to get a Xbox as well......

If you have no 360 and you're considering one for Halo 3, also consider one for Bioshock, Half-Life 2 Orange Box, and Beautiful Katamari. And Lego Star Wars 2. Oh, and the first two Halos and the first Lego Star Wars via backwards compatibility. There's plenty to play.

I've always loved Halo, I must say Halo 3 is by far my favorite Halo game to date

I just got through editing my first multiplayer arena in the Forge...last resort level.....damn that takes a while.....but it's fun. Fusion coils are awsome!!! & I put a hidden stash under a big stack of crates....& when they blow...... I actually blew a warthog clear over the wall separating the beach from the base.....with me in it.

I'm having great fun on Halo 3 online, yup finally got gold. My tag is the same as my forum name.

Anyway is anyone else fed up playiing sword matches, every time I play one there is always someone using either an exploit that increases the range or an exploit to reduce the damage they take when hit(i.e they have no overshield and can take 4-5 sword hits without dieing)

You guys really liked the ending? I thought it kind of sucked.

Cortana says it might be years before they find them. What's Chief do? He hops in one of those stasis pod things like the one he woke in Halo 1 and says, "wake me when you need me". Hello, dumb ass! Do you know where you are? You're in the same back half of the ship where they keep all the vehicals. Why don't you jump in a Longsword and fly home like you did in Halo 1?! Take a nap in there.

the in amber clad is a smaller class ship then the pillar and more than likely dosnt have the same compliment of vehicles

Well, considering the huge ass battle that was going on outside before they escaped the Halo, they probably didn't have many vehicles in there.

Not to mention, I doubt Chief's supply of air would last very long. Sure his suit is sealed, but that doesn't mean he has an infinite supply of air in that suit.

So, it makes sense for him to get into a stasis pod asap, conserve oxygen. This gives Cortana enough time to go through try and find anything that would help them, find out where they are, and all that jazz.

From the looks of things, the portal closed before they got through, which means that planet they're orbiting isn't Earth. Which, I'm fairly certain, means they're a hell of a long way from Earth.

I was under the impression that the **** he was stranded on was Forward Unto Dawn? But yea all the vehicles would have been sucked out like Chief almost was in the 1st end scene. That planet they're falling on to definately looked funky man, like Coruscant or something Forerunner-ish.

Loved the ending and I'm pulling for some kind of new game or a book because I love the Halo story.

considering that the Halo games sell really good, we WILL get more games.Microsoft and Bungie aren`t stupid enough to end the Halo series NOW...they said this game was the end of THIS trilogy so the sequel to this game won`t be called Halo but more likely Spartan Chronicles or Master Chief... something that IS descriptive to the fans of the series.

Same here, there are so many possibilities too. I could guarantee that the next game would start off with the chief being awoken by Cortana after she picks up a ship from the planet going to investigate the beacon she set up.

I want to know, really really badly. Of course the story could be told in a novel as well and may not have another game.

Is anyone else having problems getting the Elite Commando Shoulders? I read you have to get Killing Frenzy(Running Riot) in Lone Wolves to get it. I've gotten the Achievement, but I didn't get the shoulders.

i never really play as an elite and the only armor i have other than the basic is i think the commando shoulders, flight helmet, and ascetic chest. i really try to focus on spartan armor.

but there is a new book comming out soon that retells what happened to Johnson at Harvest (the initial site of the Covenant)

Ah I dont want it. I dont like halo at all I like games with substance. No a mindless killing spree. It works on Gta but I just dont like Halo and never will.

To say it has no 'substance' is just retarded. Do you know the story behind Halo? Or do you just see the multiplayer and assume there is nothing else to it?
