To be more precise, it makes Cait Sith the deadliest thing in any Final Fantasy ever. You know how easy everything is when you get a Limit Break (One hyper, a mastered Cover Materia, and a steady stream of Cure and Potions speed that up nicely) that kills absolutely every enemy in the game, and also you can use it as many times as you like, removing the Luck factor entirely?
That actually sounds like more hassle than just getting a Gold Chocobo (only takes 30mins) and leveling up Knights of the Round once... plus cheating removes the very little challenge there is there. :\
HP Absorb w\Knights of the Round + W-Summon + Counter w\Mime = Put pad down and eat some lunch. I actually went shopping up the road once.
It's not cheating, it's more like exploiting a part of the system's design to my own nefarious ends. That, and I am too damn lazy too do the Gold Chocobo sidequest. Getting Cait Sith his second limit takes like five minutes if you have a mastered Cover (I happened to have one on hand) and I had the foresight to get him a full Limit meter before going into the fight. Of course, I had to restart the battle due to errors that I'm too egotistical to take responsibility for, but nothing is quite as sweet as one-shotting a superboss.

I've been waiting a loooong time. Ever since I finished DQ 8 (awesome game, BTW) I've been wanting to play it when it comes out.

The cgi cutscene at the beginning of Chapter 12 makes every other bit of cgi in every other game ever made look quite frankly, embarrasing.
**** was amazing.
I made a second save file just to watch it over again.

I wish I had made a save for that. It is without a doubt the best cutscene in the game, even better than the ending.
And a word to the wise, when you get to the final boss (second form to be exact) poison is your friend. I was stuck on it for four days. It has to be one of most frustrating bosses I have ever faced in any game, yet poison took it out pretty fast. It was odd, I five starred it just by using poison and healing. And with the third form, I hope everyone leveled up enough.

Wow, poison is a really good idea.
I got used to his rythem and would blitz him and then combat clinic prior to the sword of rape everything.
Third form was no trouble for me. Relentless Assault, meter top out, 99% and with 5 seconds left on the stagger gauge...Highwind.
Fo' shizzle.

Congrats on beating him in a more legit way. I had neglected to level my weapons and accessories, so I was stuck in that second to last area before the bosses where the only drops you get are either catalysts or components that are just sold for money.
Normally when I'm playing a rpg I have to restart at least once since I would mess something up. This has to be the first one where I didn't have to.
Now begins the long haul to obtain all weapons and accessories, and five starring all cieth stone missions.

Re: Why is there no Final Fantasy 13 thread? AKA why is this forum so dead?
well, I loved the Story portion of the game. Working on lvling and Mark missions now, only 6 left(to beat-not 5star...)
Honestly, I'm not a fan of mark missions being the only real sidequest. I miss chocobreading, card games, Soccer(ok not Soccer, but it was something different)
Don't get me wrong, I like the Mark missions being in there. But it is nice to have something to break up the grind.
Anybody have a fool proof way for farming the adamantoise and adamantortoise? Besides the TP heavy technique of using a summon and spamming death.

So, it seems XIII is the first game in the main series not to use Victory Fanfare or Prelude, and the third game not to use the Opening Theme.
I'm sorry, the game loses points for that. The Chocobo Theme returns, sure, but that doesn't excuse dropping three of the series main themes.

Unfortunately, that is your best bet. Even with the accessories that increase item/rare item drop rates, a five star rating only gives you a 5% chance of them dropping a trap. Its only a 1% chance without.
That damn treasure hunter achievement is going to take ages to complete. You can keep farming Mission 7 for the five Bomb Cores and use those to level up you gear as much as you can. Its an easy mark and its right next to the stone that activates it. No matter what rating you get on it, you are garunteed the five Bomb Cores.
I've been doing this for a couple of days now, but I switching to Borderelands for a while just for a little bit of a change. Plus, the new Mass Effect 2 DLC is out now, but I don't see that taking me more than an hour or two to finish.
