Windcharger
- Motto: "BRING ME DANGER!"
It tough getting a Windcharger, but I managed to get one for a reasonable price. Only the shipping was the thing that made him more expensive than a regular Scout in the local toystores.
But then it's dilemma-time. I've had this guy for a week or so and he's still all carded up, sitting on my shelve... And I wonder. Should I unpack him? Should I leave him carded? I have no plans of reselling him (TF's are lousy investments), but it's more of an esthetical thing. I like the toystore feel of packed TF's, so close and yet so far away...
So I ask you, Windcharger owners, how good is this guy? Does he deserve to breathe the open air?

Get him out, he's awesome and fun to fiddle with. He's like an Alternator, just more fun.

Funny you mention Alternators. First time I saw that little guy I confused him with that Alternator Megatron concept.

I dunno, I have the little guy and really like him. I'm replacing the Hasbro version for the Takara 2 pack and probably selling off the older figure. I think he's a great figure especially for his size. Your call though. The market is still ridiculous on these, you could probably get most of the cost of the United version back on him. Just spitballin'.

I say keep him sealed. For one he was a part of the RTS line which has come and gone and was not released again through another Hasbro line as far as we know. I did get 2 simply for that reason alone and had I known about this upcoming 2 pack I would have only bought 1 RTS and opended Windcharger N Wipeout set. Do what you must but I think you should keep it sealed to marvel at...'nuff said!

Let him out, he's too cool! I feel your buzz though, I've got too many unopeneds and as time goes by it gets harder to break them out. Don't fall into my trap, crack him open and enjoy the thing, the question goes away.

The only reason he is costly is because of poor distribution, crack him open and stick it with your Classics collection.

It's a trap, isn't it? Gets harder every day.

Take him out and enjoy him. He's a great little Scout-class.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Re: Windcharger
I have the same problem. I've had mine for months still sealed.
For some reason i don't have any desire to open it and fiddle around with him.
I don't normally ever leave a figure unopened but with Windcharger i kinda like that he is a rarity in a sense and he'll probably remain sealed up. I also like the "so close yet so far" type of tease myself.
Ultimately it's up to you. I'd say open him and enjoy the figure if you really want to and you have no intentions of a resale of him for a profit to a MISB type of collector.
But it's also makes it fun to have a figure like him sealed up cause it does add a little something special to the collection.

Exactly.
I try to get a packaging sample from every line and nail it to the wall in my TF bunker. These are usually legends from the newer lines. Some G1 as well, but I just love that boxart and the tease (I'll never touch those yellow G1 euro constucticons...)
But anything post G2 over the legends-size... Never!
So this is a rarity for me.

I don't find it harder and harder to open them if I leave them. I regularly leave them sealed to save the enjoyment of a new figure for a rainy day.
Windcharger is a pretty cool figure. Open him, TFs are there to be transformed.

It's decided. I'm gonna open him up. As soon as I'm done with playing with DOTM Jolt and Shockwave and boredom kicks in.

I'm like Mykltron, too. Only keep my toy sealed when I either too busy now or leave them later during drought time. But open him. You work hard to find him so you deserve it and he deserves it, too. Again, open him and then kill him so Arcee can drag him around.

I had a similar problem. Ultimately, it came down to him replacing the last of the Cybertron series Classics substitutes. I did not spend 2 months going to Ross and TJ Maxx everyday to have a C Swerve standing there! In the end he didn't even make it home MISB!
