Here we go, the race for Transformers extinction has started, Starstcream overall look lacks on too many things that it would be a long list of detailed areas to cover, honestly it s u cks; along with 99% of the Animated stuff I've seen.

This *jet* what care-bear is the one that pilots him?

That is very blue after all. A Thundercracker repaint wouldn't be likely in my mind. But that's okay, it makes the chances of a new Skywarp for my collection all the more likely.

I'd have to disagree. The figure is really nice, even with the chin so many people seem to hate. But I think it adds character. :P

You and me both. I would love to see a Skywarp come from this mold (with a different head sculpt of course). That would be very nice indeed.

im not a fan of the packaging style but in this case it works quite well, it will stand out from a lot of other toys on the shelves (which i suppose is the idea), still i'd prefer squarer boxes and less of the toothpaste package look.

Those dismissing the animated toys as the end of TF are overlooking the fact that it seems theres been a very big reversal of opinion regarding the animation and to a greater degree the toys themselves.

Compared to the movie and cybertron toys which i think are equally dull (well actually the movie line is the duller of the two) these are decidedly funky, they arent the definitive TF we want (thats for universe) but they at least seem to raise smiles from those who see them, a movie or cybertron toy has NEVER made me automatically smile, the animation toys do, weird but true. I know a circle of toy junkies in their mid 30's- early 40's who collect several takara lines from the early 70's onwards, they have barely touched TF but animated has them all interested amazingly enough.

id say that its what these toys lack that makes them a winner, they have a clever minimal design which is the anthithesis of the movie toys.

its evil care bear that pilots SS.

Im really glad these toys are upcoming as it allows me to ignore the movie line totally. If it wasnt for knowing that arguably superior toys were around the corner id be perusing the movie line toys wanting to like then and probably buying one or two that i felt were ok (and i have bought one or two i feel are decent, like target repaint jazz).

Lol. Was there ever an evil care bear? And how did it hook up with Starscream? :P That idea is just crazy enough to work in the show.

...Maybe not.

Nahh Grumpy was a Gummi Bear wasn't he? :P

That jet looks pretty good, if a bit blue. Wonder how it suffers in the usual jet underhanging kibble stakes?
Still not sold on the Bot mode though.

I love the figure, but the only thing that bugs me about it is the inversed wings in jet mode. However, with that said, the jet looks like nothing that exists on earth, so I assume it's a futuristic jet and it's all good.

I haven't seen the series yet. He's piloted by a care bear?

Nice packaging. Too bad the Canadian version will look like shit what with all the different languages plastered all over it.

I like the toy from what I've seen so far. I think Hasbro will do the same thing with this Starscream that they did with the movie one. G1 head and color scheme for the repaint, and the win. Then all the haters will be like, "OMG, this is the best, most kick-ass Starscream ever! I must have it!"

Don't you think that's a bit far to take it? I mean, I know you love your mom and all- who doesn't- but that seems a bit extreme you know? :P

I like this Starscream. He looks neat. I can get used to him being dressed as TC too. It's just those awlful reverse wings that make my eyes bleed!

It's amazing how fast some supposed Trans-fans are to mouthing off that "the end is here"

I admit that my first thoughts on the new line were negitive and after watching the first episode i'm still not that positive about the "Transformers Animated" series it's self, however from the toy designs we've seen, i will gladly pick up a few regardless of the show. Starscream will be one I'll be looking for and I think it will look great on the shelf with the other Starscreams, Seekers, and various other Deceptijets from the different lines.

Just because the current release at anytime may not be to your liking, never say never. I personally can't stand the recent Real Gear line, but I still bought Booster x10 for the Laserbeak connection. Spouting off that the franchise is dead only cheapens the fan experience, and at worse makes you a hypocrite if you buy anything from that line.

First, he’s not colored like Starscream, he’s colored more like Thundercracker, why couldn’t they have made him white? Second I hate the packaging, the colors, overall design and the shape are all horrible, why cant we just get standard square boxes similar to what we got with Energon?

A couple figures from this line look okay, but its starting to remind me much of going from RID to Armada. They gradually got more detailed and articulated since G1 then took this giant leap backwards with poorly made toys, on the other hand Armada had better designs than these horrible things.

All I can say is, they look like they'll be articulated just fine. Plus they at least won't have to have a mini-con or a cyber planet key inserted into their rectum to make super weapons they never knew they had pop out of their groin or armpits or somesuch.

not crazy baout how the wings look in jet moved foward instead backward like the orginal starscream looked but i can live that color no its wrong if starscream has thundercracker colors does this mean if the seekers get introduced into the series that thundercracker will be white in ther series instead of the blue paint theme?

i for one call that mixed up good look i think they rushed some of these figures a bit thise figure needs some improvements big time starscream lloks like he ate that piece of chewing gum from willie wanka movie that makes him turn into a giant blue berry

For the most part I have to agree, Animated is leaving a worst taste in my mouth than a 2 day old beer with 3 half smoked cigarettes in it(dam party foulers)

Starscream however I have to say I'm looking forward to since I already got a broken Energon DreadWing and I'm gonna and swap heads. One way or another I'll make it fit.

But beyond that, Animated just plain sucks noodles!

hehe. actually i'm really hoping Animated would piss TFTM-n00bs off...

wanna know what really RUINED TRANSFORMERS FOREVER? those dang TFTM-n00bs, i tell ya, with all their scalping and hoarding and praising the merits of Blackout and stuff like that. fueled by hype they tore down store aisles and eBay like a Kansas tornado, leaving collectors and kids without some piece of the action. never happened in such a scale with RID, AEC.

now with the Animated designs pissing people off, i sure do hope most of them are those who started in the TFTM franchise; this way, with many not buying these stuff, there'll be more for us collectors, and the dreaded "BB-08gate" scalping nightmare scenario won't ever happen again.

Not to mention the S-47s... http://swisshornet.bleublog.ch/files/images/2006/4/mob198_1145738837.jpg

I think this is still a prototype, honestly, just put in a box. They are always talking about how this is going to be so show accurate, so something like the coloring wouldn't be too hard to match. It's nowhere near the shades seen right next to him on the box, so I'm not really worried. I still can't wait to get him!

i really like the new colours for SS. i always felt that SS light grey was the least attractive of the 3 first seekers. Light grey might well be more G1 but the toy would not look as attractive, i left classics SS on the shelf and waited for Skywarp in the battle set, a much better looking toy for the richer colours.

I need to see more pictures of packaging.
The first time I saw deluxe packaging I was dissapointed but after a few close-up views, I was quite impressed.
Then again, I rarely like Voyager Packaging in the first place. Though movie packaging for Voyagers was awesome.
I wish Hasbro would change the deco of the boxes. Red, white and blue is fine for Autobots but 'd rather have some Black, blue and purple packaging.

I really like this line there are a lot of changes which is what i like about it. I don't know what others are complaining about is it because of its "kidiness"? Kids are its target anyway right so theres nothing wrong there its not like G1 targeted adults thtas why we liked G1 when we were kids because we were its target.

I wonder how much that much folding and assembly on the box costs Hasbro... and by extension, us. Nifty packaging, but wouldn't a nice simple irregular die-cut be more feasible than the complex compound folds here?

I bet those boxes will be a ***** to get into. :)

After all this long discussion, and seeing the pics and different stuff that has been posted on www about all animated toys etc. I feel that Armada Hot Shot needs more attention, actually looks so cool right now!... I even want to hug him, wow, I am going to cry!

Let's get serious here, this is not a matter of being an obsess collector, that you must buy what every garbage is thrown on the wall, this is a matter of good taste, a matter of keeping things on the positive side of the graph, I have seen some many complains all over many websites, that I have no clue if something like this happened in past, where, fans, get so divided... I mean TF's fans, quite interesting position.

Again not a matter of buying just because, buy it if you really like the ugliest toy TF's toy line so far, well at least Hasbro got a "top of the line" series... of course on the dark side of the forge... not even force
