They are both ugly as all hell. I see no real difference between the voyager and leader besides the chrome. And ya.... slightly disproportioned?! The leader looks terrible in Dino mode, his neck is way too long. Every new figure I see from AOE gets worse, my only hope is the movie itself isn't as bad. I will stick to generations line and pass on this whole movie line garbage.

Wow...I mean wow is that thing horrid in dino mode.
I'm perplexed
...knowing that I got an awesome deal on these Leaders from Amazon...should I cancel or just get them anyway to keep in robot mode? I guess I need to decide soon as they'll be shipping next week.
I'm in agreement with those thinking about just going Generations this year, but where in the heck are all the preorders Hasbro? I'm hoping we'll see some when the midnight AOE launch hits hasbrotoyshop.com. That's still happening right?
I'm not going to pay scalper prices/overseas shipping here and there just to continue my generations plastic crack fix.

The review is really selling the figure's strong points, but the chrome puts me off, the length of the dino mode puts me off..
I feel something could've been done with the forearms/dino feet, as they're going the Voyager route of 'just hangin' there'. Same with the shoulder face split, they may be moveable, but they're a bit floaty (which is the issue of the Voyager).
I do like the poseability of this thing, I have to say, but I very rarely ever went for Leader class stuff, especially in the movieverse, and this is not swaying me towards it that much.

Certainly not worth retail price. However, Amazon's price with the free shipping made it better. At least the figure doesn't really look that horrible even in the dino mode.
I wonder if you can reposition the feet in any way in order to push the torso back into the robot chest so you could shorten the T-rex mode. Unless the back panels would also cause an issue, which it looks like they may.

Eeesh! These AOE figures are just really really bad. I think the only one I will get is the Evasion Optimus. This figure is just horrible. It looks like the worst leader class movie figure. As for the review, don't care for when they show the bot mode first and then the alt mode. Just seems backwards to me. Also, how do you not like Sentinel Prime but like this? Oh well. I'm saving money.

I'm not gonna lie, i am warming up to the bot mode and may even go as far as to say that i like it.
Alt mode is a whole other beast. It's abysmal. It's poorly executed, lazy and ill proportioned. Not to mention fugly as all hell.
I'm also slightly concerned about this trend of using soft rubber/plastic on figures now. Will these pieces hold up over time or decay to malformed twisted bits of nonsense or dust in 5 years from now? I don't know and i don't like it.

Robot mode - Just average. Doesn't look like "Grimlock" is a minus. Chrome fail. Anticipating ugly chips all over the damn thing in the future.
Alt mode - Torso's too long and makes it look like an misshapen alligator standing on stubby legs
Purchase - no... well maybe if it goes into the bargain bin. I'll hide him in a corner where ugly robots belong.

The bot mode is ok, nothing special. What ruins the bot mode for me are the huge dino feet on the arms, they don't even try to fold away he or look like some sort or weapons.
The dino mode does look like a croc on legs, too long and flat with too much mass in front of the legs.
Voyager Grimlock wins for me even though it does still has stuff on the robot arms.

I just put the kabash on my preorder from Amazon...$41.15 shipped or not for both Grimlock and Prime. I think I made the right decision. I'm picking up Evasion Mode Prime on launch day and will take a closer look at Voyager Grimlock when I can hold him in my hands. Thanks so much for the great review...my wallet also thanks you.

It's an okay figure. The dinosaur mode is way too slim and the face's design is covered in black. So now you won't be able to see Grimlock's sharp teeth on his cheeks in robot mode.

Heres the thing that is terribly wrong with all the dinobots so far, even if they were awesome figures and nicely designed which they are far from. They are painted and colored like rainbow my little pony warriors!!!!!! They look nothing like they do in the movie( I am assuming this from what I have seen of Grimmy)which grimmy looks badass from what I have seen so far, I mean comon FFS they couldn't even do them in G1 colors!? I am a pro customizer so I can remedy this, but still its terribly wrong on hasblows part.
