Amiami has more new images for us, and this time for Transformers Legends LG41 Leo Prime (Lio Convoy depending on the listing). These are the same images as before but bigger, clearer and without any watermark. They show that Infinitus is indeed the Titan Master this toy comes with. With Takara's trend of using their legends molds for only one character, at least for normal retail releases, this will be Japan's use of the Alpha Trion mold, making both characters exclusive to their respective companies/markets.

He is currently available for preorders at both US and Japanese based online stores and the price ranges from $35 - $55 depending on whether it is imported or not.

Update with comparison images:

And I noticed something: Takara does not have more paint apps than Hasbro, at least not a significant number more (they do paint the clear plastic cosckpit). But another point that sadens me a bit is that Takara didnt paint the snout of the lion or give it any painted detail. WHY?! Thats something I get from hasbro but Takara not doing it too is a bit odd.

I really don't like that they used Infinitus. They could have used the Voyager Prime head or even re-used their own Ginrai head (the titan master, not the helmet), but this one just doesn't work for Lio Convoy.

Also, unless I'm mistaken, he seems to have an extra gun? In the vehicle mode picture there's a blue gun on the left side of the vehicle (where the sword is on the right side). Is that something that came with Trion?

That looks like Sentinel's gun. Maybe it's on the same sprew as Infinitus?

Nah, it's definitely a much lighter blue than that.

It's the same blue as his face. Hence the sprew, sproe, sprue debacle. :-P

I wish they could find better ways to incorporate the weapons, especially the swords. If he or they came with 2 swords placing it one the side would be okay, but it just looks awkward the way it is.

Since this will be Takara's main release of that mold, and is part of the legends line, this isnt the kind of figure to have second thoughts on when its released.

I will be preordering it, that will also make me more relaxed about waiting to find Alpha Trion on discount if that happens. I just hope I like the mold.

PS: of course I say that, but 1) this figure might end up being part of HLJ's next big summer sale and 2) I might end up biting the bullet and getting alpha trion too when I see it just so I could experience the mold.

Thats just cause for some reason your voyagers are reasonably priced in the UK (unlike your leaders and deluxes).

Not really. The Voyagers seem to be suffering a price hike; a lot of places I've seen them go for between £26 and £30

And Kurona, that voyager price is still proportional. Give or take, the classes go up in factors of 2 for price in canada. Deluxe 15-20, Voyager 30-35, Leader 55-60. Takara's is on the more expensive end of that price point though. They boosted their prices quite a bit since the prime line.

Unless you can truly enjoy this figure for the genius character design, and the magnificent sculpting and detailing. The transformation is OK. Nothing spectacular. The articulation in lion mode is pretty non existent. The ship is nothing less than a space log. Articulation in bot mode is great though.

I love this figure for the bot mode first, and the design of that crumpy old space knight. Liocorn pauldrons FTW!
