VFXTalk have announced a competition aimed at budding visual effects artists to design a teaser-trailer for the forthcoming Transformers Movie. First prize being the new Intel based Mac Mini! or $600 worth of VFX equipment of your choice!

broadcastnewsroom.com have posted an article here with a link to the competition thread at VFXTalk.com. They write:

Based on the globally popular toy franchise, Transformers has been generating intense pre-release buzz—especially in the visual effects community. VFXTalk is giving artists a chance to give the hype machine a helping hand by creating a teaser-trailer dazzling enough to rock global movie audiences (or at least impress their fellow members of the VFXTalk community).

Submissions must be no longer than 10-seconds, but otherwise there are no creative or technical restrictions. “We are handing artists a blank slate,” said Kelly Campbell, Content Manager of VFXTalk. “It is whatever your mind can conjure up. It can be simple or detailed. It can feature bots, or not. It can be set at the farthest fringes of the galaxy or right here on Mother Earth…but whatever it is, it should evoke the spirit and magic of Transformers…and it has got to be great!”

More Bots. More News. More Awesome.
