If you're going to include that many bits just to change poses, why not just make an action figure?

They've got the description for the concussion blaster and rocket launcher mixed up in the diagram.

Starscream is the treacherous Decepticon Air Commander and the deadliest of the Seekers. The self-proclaimed pride of the Cybertron War Academy, he's famous not only for his incredible skill, but also for his limitless (and troublesome) ambition. Starscream believes that he is more suited for command than Decepticon leader Megatron. Thankfully for Megatron, Starscream's mutinous, power-grabbing plots are almost always transparent, and he can never muster up enough patience to complete a grandiose power play. Even on the few times he has taken command of the Decepticons, he quickly loses control of a situation, but is too arrogant to realize when he's in over his head. He never learns from his mistakes, but then again, Megatron doesn't either, seeing as how he's never turned Starscream into slag. Despite his constant failures, Starscream believes it is only a matter of time before he prevails—his destiny is inevitable.
Starscream's never-give-up attitude extends even to the afterlife: unlike most Transformers, he has a mutant, indestructible spark. His life-force cannot be destroyed and can persist even without a body to contain it. However, there is no indication that Starscream (or anybody else) was aware of this fact prior to his destruction.

No one can convince me this isn't a slight Game of Thrones reference.

Imagination Art has unveiled a brand new version of one of their most recent Transformers statues, Coronation Starscream! This new variant will be exclusive to the upcoming Shanghai Comic Con, as well as limited to 30 total pieces. There doesn't seem to be that much of a difference between the two, if this early photo is of any reference, but more differences will probably be shown in the coming days! No price is given on their post on Weibo, but it's guaranteed to be one of the pricier pieces available at the show.

They also share that they will be hosting a panel on painting/repainting Transformers figures at the con.

Wow. This is heavily influenced by Maketoys Giant. Which is fine by me. He's still probably my favorite 3P Devastator. (To be fair, I have not seen Toyworld in person and that looks very impressive as well.)

Hilarious how it's essentially Giant Type-61. People always say Hasbro should just use the 3rd party molds to recoup lost income. And lo and behold... they finally did it. In yo face Maketoys.

OK, it's basically Maketoys' Giant. Not that Maketoys probably cares, as the people who want a fully transformable, poseable, not-garbage Devastator are not necessarily going to be in the market for a farcically expensive enormous statue. Though given that it's a known fact that HasTak and 3Ps are actually covertly quite chummy, and IIRC MT's main designer has done contractual work for Takara before, I wouldn't be surprised if Maketoys themselves had a hand in this. Which wouldn't be a bad thing at all as their stuff is absurdly good. Seriously HasTak, swallow your pride and openly make them licensees.

Though I will say, if MT ISN'T happy about this, my rotten heart would be filled with glee if they took Imaginarium/Hastak to court and won. It might just very well signal the beginning of the end of the ridiculous US IP law system.

Actually, they didn't use the molds. They used the base design but the tooling is 100% original. If they HAD used the molds and reproduced Maketoys' Giant wholesale, then A: that would be seriously scummy of them, and B: it could land them in hot water.

there have been so many devastators official, 3rd party, statue, or whatever, that i honestly am starting to no longer care..... . to me this is just another devistator in the sea of 3rd parties and such.

also not sure how that would land em in hot water..... they own devastator. that would be like "you copied our design !" hasbro: "ya, and we copied a design you made of a character we made, and your design isn't even licensed"

Three things here:
1: Maketoys, despite not creating the character of Devastator, DID create that specific design of Devastator, and engineered/tooled it themselves. Had Giant been a barely-altered KO of an existing figure then maybe, but at absolute best it would be morally dubious to profit off their work so directly.
2: Technically, their figure isn't Devastator, as HasTak/IP law apologists will harp on about endlessly. So when Hasbro says "You made an unlicensed Devastator!" they can quite rightfully reply "No, we made our own design called Giant". Whilst one might argue this is ethically unsound, if you're going to go down the "letter of the law above common sense" road then again, it all checks out. Though given that (at least IMO) trying to stamp out the 3P scene is equivalent to trying to stamp out people making and selling fanart (that is, incredibly scummy and not a good idea) then HasTak is STILL in the wrong.
3: Maketoys, like many 3P countries, operates out of China, and as such is basically immune from HasTak's lawyers. If they even tried to go after the 3P market, they'd not only most likely lose, but they'd probably lose exclusive rights to the Transformers brand. Whether or not you agree with that being a good thing is up to you, but I would just like to point out that the US copyright system is only in the ridiculous state it is today because a certain mouse-loving corporation refuses to allow a nearly hundred-year-old cartoon to go into the public domain.

Now I doubt that HasTak and Maketoys will come to blows because again, it's a known fact that HasTak and 3Ps are fairly chill with each other and have numerous "gentlemen's agreements" but if sparks DID fly it wouldn't be that cut and dried.
