"Star Convoy will debut the new Titan price point. Which is CHEAPER than the usual $199.99. If I recall correctly his MSRP is $159.99
titans also now come packed in cases of 3 and not 2 anymore"
In other words, "Titan" now equals "HasLab but for mass retail".

By my count, this gives us our first looks at Solus Prime, Silverbolt & Slingshot, plus Animated Wasp, G2 Grimlock (and Wheelie!), Star Convoy, and proper images of Prima and Red Alert.

Animation accurate, he wasn't precisely aerodynamic in the cartoon.
blackeyedprime wrote:Star convoy better be motorised at the price they are charging.
Ha!, you must be new, or just very naive.
Probably just large enough to not feel totally overpriced.

blackeyedprime wrote:Slingshots brick mode is probably the worst alt mode any slingshot has ever had. Star convoy better be motorised at the price they are charging.
He won't be. And the price is cheaper than other titans.
Posted by Bumblevivisector on December 5th, 2024 @ 12:26pm CST
And here I was so sure "Titan" Star Convoy would be smaller but come with Sky Garry to bulk him up to $200, because then a Titan Grandus in 2026 would match the relative scale of their G1 toys. Sigh.
Posted by Rodimus Prime on December 5th, 2024 @ 12:34pm CST
Does it? The price drop indicates otherwise. It's cheaper so I'm pretty sure it will be smaller than 2 feet. Yeah, so is HasLab Omega Prime, but he contains 2 separate figures.Sabrblade wrote:Update from known reliable leaker JTPrime17:"Star Convoy will debut the new Titan price point. I'm much more interested in Superion. He looks good and beefy. But I thought silverbolt himself was a commander class figure. Shouldn't Superion be larger? Or will they incorporate the same setup Menasor got?

He is.
Rodimus Prime wrote:Shouldn't Superion be larger? Or will they incorporate the same setup Menasor got?
Larger than what?
I doubt they'll give him a "trailer" for the Superion skeleton.
I'm fairly sure, he'll be quite large to accommodate the Superior parts.

EDIT: Dammit, I'm dumb and managed to omit Slingshot in my own image post and not notice that Air Raid was there in his place, even though I'd grabbed both pictures!

Rodimus Prime wrote:I'm just saying if Silverbolt is Commander class, adding the others to him should make him larger than he is by himself. Unless his commander classification is the same as Motormaster, and we're getting a voyager Silverbolt with a bunch of extra parts that can be attached in jet mode and when they combine.
That jet mode does look fairly large. But like others, I'm assuming Superion will be the same size as Menasor.

Between the Solus box art and Micronus leak, looks like I'm right on 6/13 so far
The only ones left to see are Onyx, Amalgamous, Alchemist, Alpha Trion (if we get a new one), Quintus, and Nexus

With Solus, we can see her alt mode as well which shows us that her giant hammer is made up of the front of her vehicle. And the alt mode for the aerialbots shows that Hasbronis going full cartoon accurate with the boxy proportions.
Let us know what you think.

I'm sorry but $160 is still way too much for Star Convoy.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Please don't hold me to this since the picture is so blurry, but I think Superion will have a skeleton mode like Menasor and that's what we're seeing now.
That does seem likely - the right leg looks to be a hollow frame since we can see the guy's arm through it, and the right arm is similarly pretty thin even though the black on it initially made me think it was Air Raid.
Left arm appears to be Slingshot and left leg is presumably Air Raid, which I believe are their most typical positions (and the ones listed on the wiki, which we know gets used as reference).
Silverbolt looks surprisingly squat on his own in that pic, almost like his legs are mistransformed (unlikely?), though it could just be the pose being hard to read through the blur.
Trying to work out what's behind Silverbolt on the table - could be extra Superion parts that aren't directly part of his jet mode?

Man, overall I like the look of the combined mode…. But damn, buying another combiner the same year as Devy and the Contructicons??

Centaur Onyx Prime!

Full Primes statues mural / poster group shot:

Much clearer view of the Star Convoy box art, with Primes head shots (note Alchemist/Maccadam):

G2 Grimlock & Wheelie:

A-ha, group shot of the wave 1 lineup. That gives us a size comparison for the smaller "Titan" Star Convoy. Also gives us a view of Star Convoy's base mode in the back:

We also have more images of Star Convoy, including a hint at the G1 accurate base mode, along with a poster of all the Primes. We even have art of Centaur Onyx Prime thanks to @damnyouwillis on Blue Sky.

Superion looks 100% better than the UW I already have. But I do already have that one. And if I replace him then I have to be on board to replace Menasor, Defensor, AND Bruticus. That's 20 guys. I held off on Menasor so I'll hold off on Superion too. Looks great. I guess that's one way to handle all that combiner bulk! Even if the end product is better I dunno. It's a mass of parts that don't do much outside the robot.
Having Super Megatron makes Star Convoy really tempting. I already have the G1 reissue. NGL, it's tempting. He comes with a tiny Hot Rod too? That almost cinches it.
The 13 are also tempting, but I want to be selective there too. Alpha Trion, surely. Liege Maximo probably. I'll probably pass on the rest.
Wasp. So the prophecies came true at last. I'll nab that guy. I feel way more connected to him than most of the 13, TBH.
Is that story book Wheelie? It looks like Wheelie done up in his colors from that picture book / his prototype colors. Kinda neat, but not enough for a buy.
Posted by Sabrblade on December 5th, 2024 @ 10:46pm CST
Combined with the fact that Star Optimus's torso looks more like that of Powermaster Optimus, I'm guessing that statue group shot was based on earlier non-finalized designs.

On the bright side, now I don't have to replace my Combiner Wars Superion.

Hasbro's Transformers releases are getting easier and easier for me to skip. Oh, well. It helps me save money for better 3rd party figures.
Posted by blackeyedprime on December 6th, 2024 @ 7:19am CST
Super ions arms and the jets losing the mini scramble jets/core fighter look on the arms is just another reason to skip them for me
Posted by william-james88 on December 6th, 2024 @ 7:45am CST
We also have previews for wave 2 which include Heatwave from Legacy Bulkhead, Sky Byte and Bruticus’ Vortex.
We also have confirmation that Walmart’s exclusive line for 2025 will by Transformers Cybertron themed.

Yeah, can't say I'm feeling Superion for the same reason I wasn't interested in Menasor, although he does have a cool overall look. I just prefer the CHUG/CW/Legacy aesthetic over the emphasis on cartoon styling coming from the SS86 line and these, I guess.Brokebot wrote:So, Superion is the next "combiner" that doesn't actually combine. It's just Silverbolt wearing his team like fashion accessories like Motormaster/Menasor. Easy pass.
I've been pleasantly surprised by the Primes so far, particularly Solus. Red Alert will be an instabuy; Star Convoy does look impressive on his own merits but not sure I'm prepared to drop that much cash on a figure I don't have any real attachment to.
Posted by -Kanrabat- on December 6th, 2024 @ 8:02am CST
I have the G1 Star Convoy reissue so maybe that new titan version will be an easy pass... Who I am kidding, I WANT IT!
As for Superion, yeah, I still like it.
Finally, I want all of the old Prime gods.
And A.Waspy. And RB Heatwave...
I may have a problem.

Posted by Sabrblade on December 6th, 2024 @ 8:07am CST
What else would he be? There's no recent mold they could make him from. He has to be a new mold.-Kanrabat- wrote:I do hope Skybite will be a brand new voyager mold.

Interesting the gave him MT-13. The OG SC had an unnumbered MT. SkyGarry had #0, and the Micromaster teams had #1 - #12.
Love the Hot Rodimus Micromaster though.

As for Superion, he looks good from the knees up. I'm heavily debating getting this set or reacquiring the UW or CW version. Depending on the prices.
And I wonder, Menasor got an exclusive toy-colors gift set. Will Superion get 1 as well?
Posted by DeathReviews on December 6th, 2024 @ 9:33am CST
Generally, it's good to see so many new molds instead of the normal bevy of repaints. There are a few of those too, but a lot of it looks new, which is most welcome. As to the figures themselves:
Star Convoy: I never had any connection to this figure or the character. So it's looking like an easy money-saving PASS. No matter how hard Hasbro tries with these 'base' modes, they are simply just not big enough to be actual bases. They're more like tiny sections OF a base.
Aerialbots/Superion: The combined mode looks nice and stable. I'm not sure if the Menasor/skeleton model is the best for him. But if it's poseable and doesn't fall over, then it'll be a welcome replacement to the CW version. I'll likely make a try for these.
Deluxe Wasp: If it's the Legacy United TFA Bumblebee, then it's going to be a tiny little guy that costs over $25. That's going to be a bitter pill to swallow. I may pick this up, but ONLY if it's on sale or discount. I don't see myself paying full retail price for a Bumblebee remold, even if it is Wasp.
Sonic Crossovers: Not really a Sonic aficionado. Pass on both Sonic and Tails.
Prima Prime: Looks nice and intricate, but I'm not really seeing any grand appeal. Pass.
Solus Prime: Same feelings to this one as to Prima. Pass.
Red Alert: Never got into the Energon line. Looks OK, but not with my increasingly limited shelf space. Pass.
G2 Grimlock/Wheelie: No. Just... no. As nice as the SS86 Leader Grimlock mold is? They've re-used it 4-5 times now. Time to let it go. Especially if it includes that awful Wheelie accessory.
I'm still hankering to see SS86 Megatron. I don't mind them taking their time, as long as it's not another blankety-blank-blank "H" tank. Give us a REAL tank that's solid and contiguous. And with Menasor and now Superion looking stable and solid - I admit I'm eager to see what they do with Bruticus and the Combaticons. The 'base' modes for Motormaster and Silverbolt look awful and I don't think any users will keep them in those modes. But Onlsaught? His missile trailer mode seems to have been MADE for that kind of setup.
What say ye, mortals?
Posted by Rodimus Prime on December 6th, 2024 @ 9:49am CST

Next, you say that Grimlock mold is nice (it is) so why wouldn't they squeeze a few repaints out of it? And each repaint has a legit reason to exist. I got SS86 and the comic edition. I'm now debating picking up al the others, as well as the Godzilla crossover (technically not a Grimlock) just to display them in a T-Rex group.
I agree with you on Star Prime and the other Primes. No connection to them, I'll pass.
And we can now pretty much expect Bruticus to have this same skeleton frame, because Onslaught actually has the body for it. He wouldn't even have to be a parts-former.
