I'm actually impressed, this toy looks awesome. I get that it doesn't fit the standards of a combiner to all, but I don't see it that way. I see it as Hasbro having a clear goal of reproducing the cartoon look in a new toy and acing that mission. And it will be more affordable than any 3p option.

Glorious. Just glorious. I'm as excited for this as I was for Rodimus last year.

Wait a sec, are those combiner port I see on the legs?
So he'd actually be compatible with the CW system.

I immediately noticed that too. Based on where those are actually located in comparison to the torso mode I would say they appear like they could be. But those ports may be a bit smaller too.
I'm definitely intrigued by the possibility

It could be something similar to TT God Bomber. He came with CW ports on his legs, no real reason, but it definitely brought more fun and playability to the toy.

I was hoping for that from the start since MM is the weakest part of the old Menasor set. Him I'd be tempted to replace.

Well, having savings was nice for a while, but Legacy Menasor looks shelf worthy....

... I don't mind the way Menasor combines, or even the whole Motormaster just being the cab. However I can't help but feel that the trailer proportions are just... Off for me. it's something Hasbro have a habit of doing, of note Earthrise Prime's trailer.
It's not something that'll bother everyone, but it's just something I'm not keen on.

If it does turn out to be truly CW compatible, then darn ya Hasbro, you got me. I creatively found a way to have 3 Scattershots anyway (I have the single CW release for Modulus, The CW set is "Betatron", and the UW version is the true Computron)
So I could have the Legacy Stunticons be the Autobots in Disguise

A point of persuasion for me is the solid looking hip/pelvis setup for the gestalt. It seems to be an actual oversized pelvis, not just two flimsy hinges covered with a little flap, cut in the shape of a pair of "underoos". This one looks like it's built to put into poses, and HOLD those poses. Which puts it far ahead of most of the CW gestalts.
Seriously, since G1, haven't we all been kind of embarrassed by the Menasor figures? G1 Menasor was tiny, and a study of cartoon IN-accuracy. And CW Menasor - see above, and still cartoon inaccurate. With Legacy, it looks like we may finally be getting a Menasor that won't stink up the joint.

They're just knocking it out of the park with the Stunticons. They were usually my second least favorite combiner team, but now I want them. I also don't mind the way they combine at all. I see it as a very smart way to manage combiner kibble.

The only thing that concerns me is the CW style connecting ports at the 'knees'. While I admit, having cross-line compatibility with CW figures sounds like a neat idea, the ratchets for the knee joints of the CW combiners were notoriously weak. They slide out of position and bend very easily when you put any degree of weight on them, which is one of the primary reasons why the CW combiners are always falling over.
I hope they do something to beef up those hinges/ratchets. Otherwise, for all the other things that would be good about this Legacy Menasor, he could still wind up falling on his face like a Jenga tower whenever you try to pose him.

I love it. I know the naysayers are going to say "that's a full robot without the cars!" and "that's not a real combiner because you're just putting cars on a frame!", but that all just feels like reaching. That is not a full bot, those arms are far too flimsy and the legs have gaping holes in them that I think can be covered with panels, but they're still way too thin to be convincing. I don't see how anyone can call that Menasor "frame" complete without the other four cars and that makes it a proper combiner in my book. The only argument I can really understand is that the leg cars attack to the back of the leg instead of the front with the car facing forward which is an aesthetic choice that I can't really argue against, I'm fine either way, but there was more than a few people displaying their CW Menasors with the leg cars (and the knees) backwards.
My only have two real complaints, one is dumb and one I think is legitimate. First, I don't like the gun, would have preferred single barreled. It looks like it can fold up, but I don't think that's just for storage. More legit concern is I think his thighs could be just a little thicker, they seem to small for such bulky lower legs (when the cars are attached).
Man, they sure are being stingy with the full on Menasor pictures, the box only showing the two figures that would be available at release.

I saw a picture of Dragstrip transformed into an arm without the Motormaster frame, and seemingly attached to Combiner Wars Motormaster. This has made me wonder if the Legacy Stunticons (ALL the Legacy Stunticons) are retro compatible, and using the trailer for the G1 look is essentially optional.
Edit: I see female ports on the trailer as well as male ports, so I imagine Motormaster himself is not retrocompatible without it.

The Fan First Tuesday Panel is underway and we will be updating this post with images and reveals.
For now, we have a WFC artbook that will be coming out.

And a look at the making of Legacy Arcee

Deluxe Wave 2 toys: Wild Rider, Knockout, Tarantulas and Elita 1

Legacy wave 2 Voyagers Jihaxus and Siege Soundwave without battle damage

Legacy wave 2 Leader class Blitzwing

Legacy Commander Class Motormaster (Menasor)
We recommend you watch the video since it shows something truly unique with the arm transformation. You do not separate the car mode before plugging it in, it separates after being snapped on as part of the arm transformation. The legs also have an automorph gimmick where pluging in the cars into the back of the leg close a panel to make it look like the underside of the car in grey, just like the cartoon did.

Shaterred Glass Ultra Magnus / Delta Magnus
This acts as two characters in one since it comes with two heads, one being a skull for SG magnus and another being the actual Delta Magnus head. Hasbro really stepped it up a notch with this release to give fans what they want.

Preorders are up in an hour.

While I'm still not a fan of the combination...hot damn that is a GOOD looking Motormaster, leagues above the CW version in sculpt and articulation. And...honestly, the Menasor frame make a good looking base that matches Laser Prime's and Roddy Prime's trailer bases, so I actually genuinely like how this came out.
Those CW ports do seem to possibly imply that maaaaaaybe we might be able to have proper integration of Stunticon limbs, if we still have their CW versions! (I know I do)
Seems rather clever, if that is indeed what it's implying, that way fans probably won't have to truly replace their CW stunt boys - maybe this helps with wanting to display Menasor and the Stunticons all together, heheh!
