Thanks for just linking to the pics and not the video btw. I will say no more on the matter.
As for the figure, it's nice, but does anyone else get the impression that it looks a bit...basic? It seems to veer a little into the Cyberverse aesthetic, especially in car mode, where it doesn't seem as painted as it should be?

I'll be getting that Skids for sure. He may also be the first one that I'll pay extra to buy some much needed gaps fillers and a Reprolabels set.

The mold looks OK, looks a bit better in hand. I'll probably get it in Burnout colors

Once again, a Legacy figure that looks short and squat. It's a line of Wolverine-proportioned bots.

He looks like an upscaled Scout class figure.

It's because it's Skids, guys. He was always the blandest-looking of the '84/'85 Autobot Cars.

Giant feet notwithstanding, Generations Skids is anything but bland:
And sorry, my mistake...it was the new Bumblebee Movie figures (the Cybertronian ones) that all look short and squat.

Skids looks really good! I'll probably pick it up, and maybe one or two of the redecos depending on how those looks

Agreed, all I am going to say about that.
I love him and will pick him up on sight!

While I don't have any strong opinions about this Legacy Figure, I always felt OG Skids was criminally unused in terms of media exposure. Sure there is that infamous marvel comic where a woman who shares my wife's name
gives him a carwash but... 2 animated series appearances and that's it.
Also years later, Energon Tow-Line I think was the only standard Autobot in that line not to appear in the animated series...sad...and ironic
It is nice that Skids and his other color schemes are getting MP releases. I doubt that Hasbro will pass at the opportunity for several easy Selects releases from Legacy Skids as well.

Marvel UK did give him more story appearances (though, they also dumped him in limbo for most of that comic's run, but did bring him back to explore his PTSD a bit).

It's because of his figure's late release in December 1984. He came out too late to be incorporated into Season 1, and wasn't part of the new lineup of Autobot Cars for season 2.o.supreme wrote:Sabrblade wrote:It's because it's Skids, guys. Skids is nice and all. He's very nice and I want him.
But Legacy needs to be frozen and delayed in favor of restocking most of Earthrise. The eBay markup on so many of the characters is obscene, and a lot of us were screwed out of being able to buy much of ER while it was on shelves.

What of earthrise has been hard to find? I have seen all figures multiple times. Wave 2 deluxe was the rarest, but still found them. Plus they are available all over online.

The Quintesson Judges, Allicons, and Megatron, in particular, were affected the most the pandemic.LinaNui wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:But Legacy needs to be frozen and delayed in favor of restocking most of Earthrise. I never saw ER wave 3 ( Voyager or Deluxe) at retail. However they were readily available online for those that wanted them, that is the only reason I have Fasttrack. Still I think if Hasbro wanted to repack toys to pad out Kingdom, they should have taken from ER wave 3 as opposed to Arcee and Wheeljack

In Japan, for me, several of the WFC figures have been hard to find, due to:
- Japanese releases being (what feels like) up to a year after the US releases (and thus..)
- ...When "regular/normal" characters are released via Takara Tomy Mall and not via Amazon Japan/other shops (as I've just waited for Amazon to stock a figure I assumed was just "being released later").
- Some exclusives not being released in Japan?
Luckily, Amazon Japan has never cancelled an order due to problems their end (only if the actual product was cancelled by the seller/manufacturer).

Which exclusives haven't been sold in Japan? I thought Takara Tomy mall had caught up, or have they fallen behind again? I'm guessing you mean more recent things like Origin Bumblebee and BB Worlds Collide set, or are there still some older figures that are missing?

Sorry, I read Kingdom not earthrise. I do actually agree that a earthrise refresh could be good. Only way that I got wave 3 deluxes was from Entertainment Earth in a whole case. I am really hoping the rerelease the conehead 2 pack soon since I missed that because I wasn't sure if I really wanted them originally.

If we include all TF lines, then we didn't get Ectotron or the X-Men crossover, nor Dracula (presently). I think they're might have been some regular figures too? It got a bit confusing as TT Mall was releasing some "regular" toys exclusively at their site, plus certain "Amazon exclusives" too, both of which I assumed would be at Amazon Japan. Coupled with the late release dates, it was possible to miss out on several toys and be none the wiser...
