According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Dunn is currently in negotiations to reprise his role as Ron Witwicky, Sam's father (although the website has him mistakenly listed as returning for the role of Sam.)
Dunn is a busy man right now, as he also has roles in the new HBO drama pilot "Luck" and the Tony Scott film "Unstoppable."

I'm glad to see that he is at least in talks. I really enjoy the work he does but unfortunately most of his roles wind up being rather short and we rarely get to see a decent range of his abilities. I liked his military role in Godzilla and he does every bit as good a job playing the straight man in the attempted comedic scenes in the TF films as he did in Hot Shots. I hope the talks go well and does come back for TF3. He and Julie White work well together as Sams parents, I just think the biggest problem they had (and the cause of folks not liking them much) was the script writing for their particular parts. Had they had something decent to work with for their parts, I think they would have been better received by the fans. Here's hoping TF3 actually goes down the more subdued, thought out path that it is rumored to be taking. I won't hold my breath though.

I like the guy a lot. I can see him running into a former high school or college friend in the movie and them announcing his old nickname was Sparkplug because of how he was with the ladies...

I like Dunn's work a lot. I think even when he's delivering somewhat goofy lines that he still finds a way to come across as very "real."

I like most of the people they have in TF especially the Witwickys, Mikheala and the Soldiers. I didn't like John Tortilla at first but he shined in RoTf up until the rushed rail gun scene.
One thing I wonder if..*is an idea a spoiler?* I'll do it anyway...
Will Ray Park be Sam Witwicky grown up? Doubt it,but possible
My mom found my plants, and my lamps... Started crying and Sh-t..saying Imma disapointment..saying Imma hafta go live with my pops in cali..
Man...........I don't even know dude.

I think he is one of the highlights in a couple of lackluster films.

He is a good actor, and he has a great personality that comes forth on the big screen. Sadly, I could care less about the Ron Witwicky character. Kevin Dunn is a definite high-light of the human side of the TF films.
