Great looking figure. My only gripe is that I wish he was getting the deluxe treatment. I know, he was a minibot in G1. I just think that if Bumblebee and CliffJumper can get the deluxe treatment, why shouldn't the rest of the "minibots"? Quibble aside, I hope I can find him in stores.

I'm not a fan of the minibot characters in general, but I agree with this. BB and CJ are too big

Its cool but why isn't he a deluxe size like the rest of the classics?

I'm almost the same; minibots never interested me much as a kid. The only exception is Brawn, and well, he's already a Legends class. Don't get me wrong, I'm more of a completionist when it comes to G1 homages in the CHUG toylines. Seeing Windcharger looking really awesome makes me wish they would up his class to Deluxe especially since he has the muscle car alt-mode.

This guy is looking really good. Sounds corny, but I really like his feet. Flat bottoms with solid heels, should make for some good poses. Still not really excited about the open hands but i can live with them. These pictures make his alt mode look a lot more solid. I wish they'd start giving scouts weapons!

^This
I saw that pose and said "Why the hell did he give hime that pose?" Truly disturbing.
Edit: Now that I think about it, it is probably a sumo pose. Kinda looks like it

I'm really liking this figure. I do wish he was Deluxe size, like Movie BB & CJ. I think it makes things more realistic when a Minibot (or any G1 character, really) is fairly size accurate to their actual alt-mode. HFTD Seaspray is a good example. Having him represented in any new toyline only as a Minibot or a Legends seems silly when his hovercraft alt-mode is bigger than most of the other ROTF or HFTD/RTS line characters. Legends size Transformers are nice to have for a different version of a character you like, or easier for kids to transform, but unless we're talking ROTF Wheelie, or the version of Frenzy that comes with HA Barricade, most characters aren't that small. The only real discrepancy is with Arcee, Chromia and Elita-1 in deluxe size. I like the characters, so I'm glad they're Deluxes, but realistically, they'd probably be more size accurate as Scouts.

I dunno.
New characters, yes, I agree.
But size-changing is intrinsic to the G1 era, and I tend to prefer G1 based figures whose ROBOT modes scale to the cartoon (as close as could be expected).
My ideal scales (with listed examples):
Minicons: The smaller Micromasters, plus most Headmaster, Targetmaster, and Powermaster partners
Legends: Cassettes, most Micromasters, some headmaster, targetmaster, and powermaster partners
Scouts: Mini-bots, Insecticons, Reflector, Throttlebots
Deluxe: Most Autobot Cars, Combiner limbs, most Targetmasters
Voyager: Triple-changers, combiner torsoes, Seekers, Perceptor, Blaster, Soundwave, most Headmaster / Powermasters, the largest Autobot Cars (specifically Inferno and Grapple)
Ultra: Optimus Prime, Megatron, Swoop, Ultra Magnus, Galvatron, Scourge, Cyclonus
Leader: Jetfire/Skyfire, the rest of the Dinobots
Supreme: Omega Supreme, Fort Max, Metroplex, Scorponok, Sky Lynx, Trypticon
That's based on the fact that most car types are currently Deluxes. You may disagree with the above, and that's your right. But using those above scales, that should have them all at least roughly in their proper scales in robot mode.

Since it's a scout it'll be cheap enough that I might buy one anyways and change the head for a custom idea I have.

I think I shall pass on this. Although it looks good it doesn't excite me.

Indeed.
Looking forward to this guy. It's been awhile since I saw a Scout I wanted so much.

I'm glad he's not a legend. Buy on sight.
