Online store thetoyvalley.com have released some information pertaining to new G1 toy Tech Spec cards in their newsletter.

Custom Bio cards:
For all Transformers that release from Year 1984 to Year 1987, is selling at US$12 each, shipping charges is US$15
There are 2 Decks

As of yet there is no pre-order page for the cards, but you can email them at duocons@yahoo.com and you will be sent a paypal invoice.

So, they took the Dreamwave MTMTE art and merged it with the toys tech spec bios on little cards?
Only purpose I can see for these is getting each one autographed by the characters voice actor or the artist who isn't receiving any money out of this work....

I'd pick those up. Look great. Shame Hasbro hasn't done a set like this since 1985.

It would be nice if they did a 1987-88 set next.

I love 'em. DEFINITELY would buy those. Great for the many TF fans, too, who actually don't know that much about G1. The layout is fabulous.

Wow shipping cost more than the actual item? Reminds me of those Ebay sellers who charge higher for "handling" and to cover "losses" from the end price.

If they were $8 + $4 shipping (+ $0.25 for each additional deck), I'd pick them up.

Normally I wouldn't worry about tech-spec cards because seibertron's Vector Sigma Database has a pretty good collection of tech specs. Not complete, but most of the ones I'd wanna get are there.

The problem is ever since the forum upgrade the database has been broken. Even when I'd bring up a proper list of characters, I wouldn't be able to bring up any actual technical data.

So maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to get this set, so I'd not have to worry about. Besides that, they are nice cards.

It's just the database should be fixed...

Yes, the VSD is one of the best parts of this site. Sad to see it in disrepair. I used it daily.

There is no game, they just have pictures, biographies and vital statistics about the characters. The biographies are from thr toy boxes and the pictures are from the Dreamwave comics.

The difference being these cards use the Dreamwave comic art instead of the G1 box art, and they did the first THREE years of toys on the new cards, where the old cards were only the first two years.
