Really odd how takara didnt go with the toon accurate darker grey for their trypticon. Looks the same as Hasbro's instead.

Maybe it's the same as Shockwave/Galvatron colours always being a bit lighter?

But those are lighter because they are going for show accuracy. Its the reverse here.

Yes. Google cartoon G1 galvatron and cyclonus and you will see shots where they are quite light. And Takara sticks to that for some reason. But trypticon was never this light on the show, at least not as far as i know.

Also, no seperate catapult shown and the only extra weapon is full tilts gun.

...I really hope they go darker for an MP. Or give us options. Options are nice.

He's 20 inches tall while Metroplex was 24 inches tall.

It makes sense that he's a little shorter, assuming all Titans have the same amount of plastic and bulk. There was no way he was ever gonna be bigger, that's for sure.

Yeps I agree, nor should he be taller than Metroplex. His bulk makes up for it. I also thought if anything Takara would make him more black coloured, Sunbow accuate. Pretty Full Tilt has the gun on the Hasbro Trypti as well.

Right, so, someone with both toys help me out here with this extremely pedantic point.

I've been looking at CW/Legends Ultra Magnus and Legends Ginrai for absolutely ages, trying to see if there's any piece Ginrai kept from Magnus. Even pieces as minor and unnoticeable as the thighs and hands seem to be completely new.

But the only pieces that I think they share... would be their wheels. I'm looking at them, and I think they are the same mold. Can someone with both toys confirm? This is an absolutely insane retool.

I think the circular plastic piece that is part of the cab/trailer connection is the same

Yeah, I asked Powered Convoy about this awhile back and he confirmed that the only unchanged parts shared between Ultra Magnus and Super Ginrai are indeed just the wheels and that little circular piece. If it weren't for Powermaster Optimus Prime acting as the middleman between these two, I'd think they were completely separate molds using shared engineering (a la G2 Smokescreen and Energon Starscream) with a few shared parts (a la TR Blurr and Chromedome), instead of one being a heavy retool of another heavy retool of the other.
