Official Images of ROTF Thrust and Gears

Thrust looks decent, good to see they gave him a different head. But I promised myself I wouldn't go overboard on repaints ... and honestly, I like the clever flight-mask-face of Breakaway more on the mold.

Gears... I'll give them credit for at least -trying- to give him G1 colors, and then use the mold to 'hide' them within a 'realistic' colored vehicle mode ... but silver and grey. Too damn overused. There's colors OTHER than silver for snazzy vehicle modes, but we already have it on Sideswipe, Sideways, Jazz in the first movie... And I have Stockade already, so a pass there too. A for effort, C- minus on actual pleasing.

Gears is looking good, though I would have used copper instead of the bright orange on the faceplate, collar, and thighs. I like the gears motif going on in alt mode. I'll be getting Gears because I missed out on Stockade and I really like the mold.

I'll likely be getting Thrust too as I'm not a fan of the colours used on Breakaway. However, the photos make the colours look more purple than burgundy or maroon. It should, hopefully, look better in person.

Are these exclusives or something? WTH is BBTS charging so much for them?

Same here. I think the most expensive deluxe domestic figure I bought was a $12 TFA Jazz.

Thrust is going to be sweet, but this is one case where the official images actually make it look worse. The paint job is too shiny and too purple-y in that image, but I'm sure the real thing will be the correct color and less shiny. And it's a great mold, so it's a must-buy for me!

why are there no decent canadian sites like BBTS? I hate being canadian and paying shipping, duty and conversion...a figure for $6.99 sounds good to you guys but to me im going to pay almost $30.00 in the end..

I haven't found any Canadian online toy dealers of the likes of BBTS but BBTS is in a class of its own.

I apologize for momentarily going off topic but hopefully if the Canadian online dealers get more business, they can flourish and allow us Canadian toy collecters more economical options when we are hunting online for toys. I find that the most significant portion of my payments are the shipping rates from other countries so being able to order from a Canadian dealer is such a pleasure for my wallet.

Anyways, back to the topic, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping Thrust's colour looks good to me when I see it in person.

Yeah, I'm also puzzled by the high price tag. I can understand increasing the price for an imported product.
