According to Portuguese site Omelete, Michael Bay sat down for an interview with their reporters, and provided some plot points and showed a little footage from Transformers: Age of Extinction. To follow is an overview, according to Omelete.
Stanley Tucci plays an unscrupulous, millionaire designer, who has been building transformers from alien technology. He compares his work to an art form and the original bots to scrap, but when set in the middle of the action, he screams and runs.
Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) enters the movie, carrying what appears to be a piece of a transformer. He’s a widower living with his teenage daughter (Nicola Peltz). The daughter is secretly dating a race car driver, Jack Reynor. There is an accident, and Yeager is suddenly under scrutiny from both the government and also from “alien bounty hunters,” something Bay did not explain any further. When asked about the ties between mercenary bots and Decepticons, Bay also declined to go into further detail.
Then there is a glimpse of a different sort of action for the movie, antigravity. The bounty hunters come to Cade’s farm with the intention to abduct his daughter via a gravitational attraction, and lock her up. There’s also a scene that was reportedly shown to the Omelete reporters, in which an ocean liner levitates out of the water and through an intersection, in front of cars.
There’s also a strong indication that Bumblebee’s new “owner” may be Cade Yeager, as there is scene in which Yeager refers to the bot as ‘Bee and tries to calm him down. While we are fairly sure of the presence of the Dinobots in the film, there was no mention of them in this interview.
Apart from the above info from the Omelete, KPopStarz has some fascinating speculation that we will not only see the Dinobots in the commercial spot during the Super Bowl, but also that we may see a glimpse of Unicron, who is rumored to be appearing in the movie as well. There is talk of leaked audio in which a weak-voiced Optimus Prime bids fairwell to Cade Yeager and the autobots, so this may hint that he is seriously damaged, if not killed, in the film.
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, in an interview with Beijing News, revealed not only the total redesign of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee as we knoq, but also some news of the Dinobots:
I cannot disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the joining of the Dinobots will give the audience new excitement. In addition to Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, the appearance of these classic roles changed, today the world's coolest, most exciting cars will appear in the film, including China's vehicles, whether you are a car enthusiast, you will feast your eyes and be shocked by them.
With as little confirmed info as there is out there right now, surely some of these speculations will turn out true and some may not.
Because these are not confirmed plot points, they can be taken with more than a little suspicion, but at least maybe we are starting to see some bits and pieces of what Age of Extinction may shape up to be.

But I am hoping that this Unicron is done like Prime's Unicron where Unicron is infact the Earth itself. But I assume this Unicron will be CGI & more than likely something Huge & Evil Looking.
I just hope this will not be a FF Repeat where they messed up Galaticus making him a Nano Death Cloud. While I know that things from Comics, Series are translated diffrently to Live Action I just hope Unicron isnt done in a comical goofy way.
OP Dying I am ok with this, in movie 5 they can bring in Rodimus, Ultramagnus or Hot Shot maybe even Sky Fire to replace OP. Then they would battle Unicron teaming up with the Decepticons.
Still what about Megatron/Galvatron nothing is known what about NEST. This info is cool such as Lockdown but where is the juicy info we need.

If it's actually true, then it sounds quite promising--at least there doesn't seem to be any overt craziness going on here. Stanley Tucci seems to be the designated crazy-ass comic relief, which is fine by me, as long as it's not a government official or secret agent man. Arrogant TF designer works for me.
Waiting to see how the TF part of the plot turns out.

Yeah to think about it, me neither. I would have said let the new leader be Ultra Magnus which is one of my Favorite transformers characters but his dull personality would probably make things boring after a movie or two. But Rodimus might make things a liitle more interesting over time as we all watch a young new leader go throw growing pains/ leadership mistakes.

To be fair, the planet's fate in that movie was pretty vague. At the very worst, it could have been annihilated, but at the very best, it could just have a been warped away with a big crater punched into it. All it takes is one answer from this movie to tell us if it's gone or not.njb902 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The dialogue that we heard before of Optimus saying his farewells sounded to me like it was a departing goodbye rather than a dying goodbye. Or, if it is gone, he could be leaving to go find a new planet for the TFs to call home, as their relationship with Earth had undoubtedly become pretty poor after what happened to Chicago.

But what if in reality these are Agents of Unicron. Being his Minions. Sort of like his Horseman of the Apocalypse type of deal. Bieng his elite guard to check out the events going on Earth.
Then Lockdown & the others Report back to Unicron. Being Cyclonus & the others. They Re-Activate Megatron but Unicron upgrades him through some unknown means or Device Megatron becomes Galvatron.
Sort of like in the 1986 movie no longer being Decepticons they are now Unicrons Cyclonus, Lockdown, Galvatron, also Drift. & the ones using the Gravitation device. Then again this is my theory.
Also I dont really think the Dinobots will actually be on anysides or taking anysides it could be like in Animated where the Dinobots didnt have a side & they lived on Dinobot Island. So to me the Dinobots are a Wild Card in AOE. I also see fights between the Autobots & the Dinobots then they will come together cause of Unicron.
I also see other reasons why OP must flee Earth or is forced to leave Could be Blackmail, could be Threats from Harold Attinger character, saying if you dont leave Earth then your Family will suffer the consequences similar towards G1 where the Decepticons Blackmailed them & forced them to flee but was ultimately a Trick by Megatron.
I like what I am seeing but my thoughts on Unicron is he will be handled like Thantos in The Avengers being seen in End Credits.
or like in The Wolvering showing Professor X & Magneto leading up to Days of Future Past.
I can see how this is going to work I just hope Bay & company makes a nice transition from Old to New though I do enjoy Mark Walburgs Films.

There is an issue with Skyfire......Skyfire is Jetfire......yeah, he kind of died in ROTF dude......plus, although I liked Prime, I don't think I would want to see that in a Live Action Movie. It would just seem a little too silly I guess......either way, I do hope that if Unicron is in this, they slowly build up to him and then BOOM!!

And that it was mentioned as a rumored possibility in the latter part of the article above.
Personally, I hope it is nothing more than a wild rumor based off of someones drunken or drug induced psychotic ramblings. I'd rather sit through 24 hours of RotF played back to back than put up with such an f'd up, asinine plot point as bringing Unicron into the movie franchise. Gouging my eyes out with a spork would be preferable. Honestly, there aren't enough expletives available to convey just how strongly I hate the idea, not that I'm a fan of them making a 4th installment of the movies to begin with.

But Saber if Unicron is indeed in AOE it would be handled like that of Thantos in The Avengers post end credits or sort of like Professor X & Magneto in The Wolvering leading up to the new X Men movie.
I was just offering suggestions, I dont know anything on AOE. The vagest of plot & some on the Transformers but other than that nothing.
I am just talking about these Articles not rambling.

1) I have done public speaking before, and I'd like to think if I had a scheduled appearance to address a large group of businessmen and dignitaries, I would be better prepared than THAT. Maybe he was tired that day - if so, he should have rescheduled until he was better rested and prepared. Instead he went in front of these people UNprepared, and as a result, the worst happened.
2) Everyone LOVES taking pot shots at hollywood - there are 'nostalgia' reviewers who make a LIVING doing it, and it seems to be what the internets (and it's millions of hollow tubes) was made for
3)Yeah, Bay's already proved that he's so rich he doesn't really care what his fans think.

Right... Lets just reschedule an entire event because Bay is having a bad day. Lets tell everyone to just...Come back tomorrow. Or next week. Cause you know, its just that easy.

And most fans have proven that there selfish, self centered, don't care about what anyone else wants in a movie. Me, me me!! Forget the Billions of dollars the movies have made. Forget the new generation of fans they have brought in. Who cares about the funding for toys lines and Tv shows. That doesn't mean crap. Nope, bay doesn't care at all.

Well, Bay said he'd never put the Dinobots in a movie, and here we are. I kinda agree with you on Unicron, I don't think he should be in the movies, unless he's done right. Which means his arrival can't be rushed, a la Galactus in FF2. And he has to be an actual living thing with a tangible body, also unlike Galactus in FF2. I do believe Unicron will be introduced sometime during the trilogy, possibly making him the main villain in the 3rd film. He's just too good and prominent a character not to be used. If that happens, I also hope Primus will be involved, even if it's just through Optimus (or Rodimus in another movie ) telling of the Transformers backstory.

Well, IDW has gone a full nine years with not using him in their G1 comics, meaning that Unicron isn't necessarily a requirement to be used in everything.Rodimus Prime wrote:I do believe Unicron will be introduced sometime during the trilogy, possibly making him the main villain in the 3rd film. To be honest, I don't want him to be in these movies since, with as unfair as these films have already been in the portrayal of the TFs in proportion to their more seemingly favoritism-based portrayals of the humans (as a means to appeal to the general masses over just the fans), I really don't feel that these films could do him any proper justice.
At best, they'd just make him be a giant, mindless monster, moreso than most of the Decepticons have all been, what with these films being human-focused above all else. So I say better to leave him out than to do him unjustly. Otherwise, we'd probably get Mark Wahlberg as the one who either defeats him or holds the key to defeating him. As if being beaten by germs wasn't enough.

I don't read iDW stuff, other than ReGeneration (which really isn't iDW stuff), so I don't know of the comics stories. However, have they stated they would absolutely not include Unicron before the G1 stories are over? I'm not saying it would be better or worse with Unicron in the stories, I'm just saying he's definitely a cornerstone of Transformers. He should be included eventually.

Agreed 100% on both points. For me it comes down to what Unicron represents (a necessary part of the mythos) which is the reason he should be in the story versus the treatment the Transformers have received so far which is the reason he shouldn't be. But with all the hype and highlight on the fact that AoE is supposed to be a new beginning of sorts, and Bay's inclusion of the Dinobots after he swore on heaven and Earth that he wouldn't do it, I'm willing to give them 1 last chance on doing the characters right, especially from what we've seen and heard of Lockdown so far. I know he's not a Decepticon per se, but it does seem he will be treated much better than the bad guys have been so far, with the exception of Sentinel.

I don't remember Bay "swearing up and down" that he would never include the dinobots, but rather that at the time he didn't see how they would fit in the movie verse. And if he did in fact swear he would never include them, then to me this says he doesn't have the power that everyone says and thinks he does. I've always said that when all is said and done, Hasbro is going to have the final say on when and where their intellectual property is used. Not the director, not the Producers, Hasbro. And lets say he does have the power. I think after working with the franchise for 7yrs he's bound to have a change in opinion.

Back when Simon Furman held the reins of the IDW story, he stated outright that the IDW comics would have "No Primus. No Unicron." in them. But since his being replaced by other writers, his word has become only Authorial Intent as later fiction penned by James Roberts an John Barber have gone and finally introduced Primus into the comics, but not Unicron. Though, there was an intentionally vague reference that could sorta possibly kinda allude to Unicron in a way, so to speak ( ), but nothing has come out of it and hasn't really been touched upon since. At this point, the comics continue to avoid needing to use Unicron and are content with doing the these they keep on doing.Rodimus Prime wrote:I don't read iDW stuff, other than ReGeneration (which really isn't iDW stuff), so I don't know of the comics stories. On a related note, Animated went its whole run without Unicron or Primus in any of its fiction. Though, the AllSpark Almanac II book did make a vague reference to "two primordial titans", but kept that vague to as to respect the wishes of Derrick J. Wyatt, who has openly declared that both Primus and Unicron don't exist in Animated (which is contradicted by fictions that declare Animated to be part of the multiverse in which both gods exist).
So while Unicron and Primus both technically do exist in these two continuities, neither are really present in either and don't need to be.

Plus it's rather impossible for such Lucky character like Prime to be hated by Evil God.
However I like that Optimus seems to be owned at least few times in AOE, propably even by human soldiers. He can even bee in stasis due to the wounds he suffers from human guns, witch would be good idea for me.

Also Saber you were wondering where I heard about Cyclonus in AOE I got that from Forums, but have since learned he will not be in AOE but possibly be in 5 & 6. I am hoping for Scourge, Thundercracker, & The Sweeps in future Movies. Sucks Thundercracker has not been in the movies neither has Skywarp. Neither has my favorite Trail Breaker.
I love how AOE is doing the humans, Being All Evil, hating the Autobots, What I don't understand why is it always the Autobots always singled out never the Decepticons, The Autobots saved the day but the Autobots are the ones always Hated on & forced into exile.
I love how OP is in AOE this is enough to make me see AOE not rather or not Unicron is in AOE. Hopefully I hope Unicron isn't even in this Trilogy. To me I do not think Unicron would not fit into the Movie Verse, not unless Unicron would be radically different to his Animated Counterparts. But I hope they do not use Unicron at all.
I like these Plots they use, such as Humans building their own Transformers, OP being more Darker, OP Leaving his Prime Directive behind "Never Shoot at Humans", But seen in the Trailer OP was Firing on Humans, Giving up all hope on Humanity.
I am curious to see how OP interacts now that he is more Darker, Moodier, also how he inter-acts with Government Big Wigs.
Cant wait to see Lockdown, also curious to learn more on those Ships we saw in Space. Also I think Galvatron will not remain controlled by Humans for long. HELLO THIS IS GALVATRON.
But the question remains, How does he Get his Free Will to become the Leader again, Through a Artifact, Through Lockdown, Or simply maybe he Breaks free of his own Will.
Cant wait to see AOE to find OUT. Wondering if Galvatron HAS FLIGHT MODE.
