Fellow Seibertron.com member Deruji spotted an intriguing update over on Planet Iacon Facebook page, regarding the release of the upcoming Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MP-27 Ironhide. As we definitely do not copy or disseminate the mirrored image below, it appears the figure may see a January 2016 release date - meaning that pre-orders should open shortly, as the general announcement will be this month - and will be sold in Japan for 10000 Yen (approx 84 USD). Not a bad figure, but his chest is not good enough. It never looked like that in the cartoon.

Complaining about the vehicle's bumper being visible on the bot mode is splitting hair at this point.

I don't understand people pulling google images of Ironhide from the cartoon. The inconsistencies from appearance to appearance are ridiculous. I understand the leg panels bugging people & I get the back is lacking...other than that, I think people are just nit-picking. Personally, the leg panels don't bother me & I never have my figures displayed from the back, so that doesn't weigh on my decision either. I think Itonhide looks good and I'm excited to start seeing more in hand pictures with other masterpiece figures.

The differences between the toy and animation model are minimal at worst. Complainers are just nitpickers who love to split hair and complain about their full plate of food.

You're still comparing it to something that was drawn without the intent of ever becoming a physical product. I also don't know what Kobayashi used as reference for this Ironhide. Guess I'm just not as picky as most with this figure.

I think people would be a lot more forgiving of this toy if Hasui was behind it.

The best part about this masterpiece is if you really dont like it, you don't have to buy it. Saddle up & buy one of the 3 third party offerings or wait for the next reboot. ;)

Im gonna get this guy, but i will say this, he is not up to par as i thought he would.

hes just off, from his head sculpt to his chest etc. Im disspointed, cuz wheeljack to me was spot on g1.

its still looks good but it could have been epic :BOT: :CON:

Does anybody know if the Datsun van that is Ironhide's alt mode was ever sold in the US? I only remember seeing the similar shaped Toyota van when I was a kid.
I'm just thinking about how the licensing seems to differ between Japan and the US. Although Nissan seems more than happy to license their IP, since we've gotten Hasbro Prowl and Streak.
