Should be in regular stores, but nobody's found him as far as I know.

Oh, cool. Forgot about this.

Anyway, I have the other Universe Leo Prime, so my brother wanted this. He'll be the one to get it.

Why don't they do a real Lio Convoy?
I allready have the Leo Breaker and Nemesis Breaker and might be getting
the blue/red version. Lio Convoy is expensive on ebay, and the only
that's affordable is Lio Flash which I don't like.

It looks underpainted with the white and all.

I watched Beast Wars one time in my teens and just couldnt get a feel for it. Besides the annoying 3-D animation that was similar to the Captain Power series, I always wondered why they needed animal alt modes on a planet with no humans ??? Are they hiding from the animals ???

The organic alt-modes prevents them from shorting out. At the time they arrived there, there was raw energon which would short out their bodies.

Also the 3D amimation was quite good. Sure it had no shadows, but when you take later examples like Energon, I think we both know which series comes out on top.

Anyway, Lio Convey/Leo Prime orginates from the Japanese Beast Wars story, which was traditionally animated. So he wouldn't appear in the US version.

Just as well, Burning Justice wouldn't mesh with the writing style of Beast Wars.

Back on topic, I think if I ever see this, I'll try to get it. Looks nice enough, but I wouldn't be pedantic enough to say the original Leo Prime from the Universe line was worse. I'd reserve judgement.

Except when Hasbro announce a revolutionary contemporary new toyline and cartoon show, which will no doubt RUIN TRANSFORMERS FOREVER again.

I did not like the Beast Wars series, either in my teens. When I first saw it, I had it stuck in my head that it was not G1. Well, it's not G1 :-) Some years later I watched the complete series, and I had done a complete 180 with regards to my thoughts of the show. This series is among the best the TF universe has to offer. You're cheating yourself big-time by not at least watching the complete series, and then arriving to a decision on whether you dig it, or not.

I enjoyed Beast Machines, also, though not quite as much.

As for Leo Prime... PASS.. I really do not like this mold.

Flash Lio Convoy is actually off white with sparkly bits of silver in the main body, and a sparkly gold mane. It is to commemorate the Dual Convoy attack that he did with Burning Convoy (Optimus Primal) when they fought against Majin Zarak. I used to own the original Lio Convoy and the Flash version along with Burning Convoy (optimus Primal), a clear red rapint of Optimus Primal.

Since the Flash version was the one I had first, I used to like it, but the colors are a bit drab in robot mold because of the bronze chest and main body color, that just don't stand up well to the festive Red, Blue, White and yellow that regular Lio Convoy has. Still it's an exclusive, just not a great one.

Ya,I never liked Beast Wars when I was a kid either, but watching it recently I've really come to appreciate the story and the character development that wasn't present in G1. I still think the toys from that era were cheaply made, and break easily. But this guy will probably be worth picking up.

That's the spirit! If possible (and your interet holds), try to watch each episode in proper sequence from Season 1 to Season 3. The series is one large story arc.

Enjoy! :D

Beast Wars is definitely, hands-down, the best Transformers series in my opinion. It's great story telling and incredible character development. Even the lesser characters get their moments. No other Transformers series delves into the complexity and overall character development that Beast Wars does. TFA tries, but it is still too light hearted of a series to compare with the darker tones of Beast Wars.

I didn't know was was coming either.

I saw the red/blue version in store, so I impulse bought that, and while I like this better, I'm not sure I need it.

If I see one in store I may change my mind.

I hate store exclusives. Either i never find them or i see them once and thats it. I may have to just pay for the shipping and order online.

I'm not a big fan of the Leobreaker mold, but this looks decent at least. The colors look more 'natural' on it than the Optimus reds and blues the last universe version of 'Leo Prime' had. Maybe because there really are lions with those colors, rare things.

If I didn't have an actual honest to gods Lioconvoy I'd probably get this guy.

Well, this is completely unexpected...I'd forgotten all about him.

DPCI is 087-06-0796

I suspect these Target exclusives will all show up on 10/20 when the movie comes out.

The gold mid-body and Autobot insignia ruin it for this figure.

Well after a few days of thinking if i should order this or not, i went ahead and ordered it. I had the red & blue version Leo Prime and it did not look right at all, and after seeing this, i felt it was right to get. Even though, this mold is not my favorite, but its looks much better in white, than its counter part of red & blue.
