I don't know, really. I can't see a benefit for me in it. All it seems to do is make it easier to switch, which people were asking for, but not be able to team up with your Autobot buddies.

Well that's... sort of lame. Same base and all that, you can just use some bots, but you have to use bought or earned crystals and not free crystals to get the characters. Not really worth it to me

Project Nova research site is in ruins, Reflector is on the run and First Aid has gone missing. Meanwhile, the missing Nova Core is pouring radiation into the atmosphere...

Bit of a Longshot

Image

With First Aid missing, it’s lucky he didn’t go it alone. Smokescreen was ready to provide cover fire with his Sniper abilities for First Aid, and now he's forced to take center stage and get a handle of the situation.

Megatron’s lack of faith has prepared him for this potential failure, as Brake-Neck was assigned to secretly provide support for Reflector with his own Sniper abilities.

Secure the Project Supernova facility and earn Alloy, Spark, Energon, 3-Star Shards and Tactical Crystals!

* Tactical Crystals contain one of of the following:Spark, Energon, 3-Star Shards, 4-Star Shards, or 2, 3, or 4-Star Smokescreen or Brake-Neck!New CharactersWhen a situation seems desperate, you can count on a Sniper such as Smokescreen

or Brake-Neck to clean up the mess! Catch them transmitting through the Space Bridge this weekend.

Image

Smokescreen (Sniper)

Everything Smokescreen does is designed to mislead.

Nothing is what it seems, and every surface action has a lurking ulterior motive. Misinformation is the weapon he wields to wrong-foot and lead the enemy astray.

He even uses his affable nature to root out the deepest concerns of his fellow Autobots. And in car mode, his tailpipe emits a screen of thick black smoke to mask his maneuvers.

A true smokescreen.

Execute!

Instantly destroy a building below 25/30/35% health or snipe an enemy bot dealing large damage. Cannot execute the HQ

Image

Brake-Neck (Sniper)

When it come reckless, Brake-Neck is in a class of his own. Opponents and allies think his head-on, who-blinks-first combat tactics are a bluff, that no one can be that wild and impetuous, but the truth is Brake-Neck really is nuts.

He doesn't care, and that's what makes him so dangerous.

Despite this, Brake-Neck is a bag of nerves, and sudden loud noises are prone to make him take off like a bat out of hell.

Execute!

Instantly destroy a building below 25/30/35% health or snipe an enemy bot dealing large damage. Cannot execute the HQ

Factions

Image

Have you ever wanted to play as the opposing faction? As we’ve received an overwhelming amount of requests from players asking for the ability to switch factions, we are excited to announce the first new game mode since the game’s release! With Factions, players will now have the opportunity to increase their team power by unlocking up to 35 new Bots from the opposing faction for a chance to lead Autobots and Decepticons in PvP battles and events from a single account! Autobots can now channel the dark side as they destroy mortars and lasers as Nemesis Prime, while Decepticons can practice tearing up buildings with Grimlock!

New Crystals

Several new Crystals will be available to players to unlock their favorite characters of the opposing faction.

Autobot Premium Crystal: Chance to get a 2-star or greater Autobot!

Autobot 3-Star Crystal: Contains a 3-Star Autobot!

Autobot 4-Star Crystal: Contains a 4-Star Autobot!

Autobot 5-Star Crystal: Contains a 5-Star Autobot!

Decepticon Premium Crystal: Chance to get a 2-star or greater Decepticon!

Decepticon 3-Star Crystal: Contains a 3-Star Decepticon!

Decepticon 4-Star Crystal: Contains a 4-Star Decepticon!

Decepticon 5-Star Crystal: Contains a 5-Star Decepticon!

FAQ notes

Q: Will Free Crystals now contain bots from both factions?

A: No, the Free Crystal will only be available for your base faction

Q: How can I get started?

A: All players will get a Autobot/Decepticon Crystal that unlocks 4 bots in their opposing faction upon unlocking the feature at HQ 8.

Q: Which bots are included in the Autobot/Decepticon Crystal?

A: Autobots: Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Ratchet and Jetfire

Deceptcions: Megatron, Bludgeon, Hook and Starscream

Q: Can I use my bots from the opposing faction in alliance wars?

A: You can only battle as the opposing faction in PVP and event battles. You can’t battle as the opposing faction in alliance wars.

Q: Can I complete the campaigns available to the opposite faction?

A: You can’t complete the story mode for the opposing faction.

Q: Will I be able to battle with a team composed of both Autobots and Decepticons?

A: You can’t use a mix of Autobots and Decepticons. All bots in your shuttle must be in the same faction.

Q: Will I be able to purchase Crystal bundles that contain bots of the opposing faction?

A: You’ll only see character bundles for your base faction at launch. We may do mixed Autobot / Decepticon bundles in the future.

Q: Will I now have separate Crystal Shards for Autobots and Decepticons?

A: Crystal Shards will be neutral for both factions - you choose to spend them on an Autobot or Decepticon 3-Star, 4-Star or 5-Star Crystal

Q: Can I use my bots from the opposing faction to create Combiners?

A: It is not currently possible to form opposing faction’s Combiners

Q: Will I be able to assign Autobots or Decepticons to my defensive outposts?

A: It’s not possible to assign opposing faction’s bots to your outposts

Prepare to expand your team of characters and increase your bot power! Factions will be available on Thursday March 16th. All players which are HQ 8 and above will receive an Autobot/Decepticon Crystal to unlock 4 bots of the opposing faction once the release goes live.

It took me by surprise, too. First 0 increase they've had, but considering how hard it is to use the ability...

Considering the current lack of Deadend, both Brakeneck and Offroad could be used for Menasor

That'd be an unusual combination, especially considering the colour similarities between Offroad and Brake-Neck.

Just checking up. Still no luck on any good Autobot alliances?

I ended up being replaced in the Seibertron one due to the fact that I joined in the middle of some life stuff, which led me to being inactive for quite a while. I totally understand, though. They needed the space.

Only 2* Brake Neck for me so far. I did take the plunge on the Deathsaurus bundle (large). Didn't get any of the promised bots BUT I did get a 4* Vortex, 3* Nemesis Prime, and enough Combaticon sparks to upgrade Bruticus to level 3. Just need a 4* Onslaught for a 4* Bruticus.

I can't really catch any combiner luck.

But, on a plus note, 1* Cyclonus has maxed out (just got him yesterday) and both 3* Bonecrusher and 2* Brakeneck are in their 20's. Plus, 3* Starscream maxed out too, so the event went well there.

The stupid tactical crystals keep giving me energon. I did score 200 4* shards, but it's mostly been energon. Argh

But we all know how much Onslaught loves me ...

I still need an Onslaught in any capacity. Plus a 3 or 4* Vortex to complete Bruticus. But I now have 3 for each combiner, so there's that...

Funny thing Max, I got a 4* Bonecrusher and 4* Brake-neck this event.

Argh

Energon in these events is the worst!!

It has been, it's like a plague! I want shards and I want a 3* Brakeneck. Is that too much to ask?

Plus, I'm really enjoying the ability for Brakeneck. The sniping works well with say Swindle or Breakdown. That attack causes wide spread damage and then Brakeneck and his non-increasing-due-to-use ability snipes them from afar!

I was lucky and caught the 3* yesterday - ive almost got him to 30 :P

My 2* came out of the chamber this morning, used him twice so far.

I'm super stoked to put Starscream and Breakdown through to 41 though. Both 3* Long Haul and Brawl are at 42 and are almost to 700, and my 4* Scavenger (who is my favorite character in this game BTW) is over 800. Starscream can already one-shot a level 1 missile launcher and Long haul can one-shot a level 2, so I really want to see what Starscream can do once upgraded.

Still wish i could get a 3* Brakeneck though. I have the 3* Dragstrip and Breakdown, so if I did get him I would have 3 of the 4 stunticons needed for Menasor.

Speaking of which, that combaticon event from a few weeks ago? I got the 4* crystal, which gave me Blastoff to go with 3* Brawl and Swindle, but then got 3* Blastoff from the next 3* crystal the next day. Salty cause now I really wish I had gotten a 4* Vortex

Blastoff is way better tho! Would rather have a multitude of those jets on my team. They're key members of any team. Bots like Vottex are more utility players.

I really like his 2* counterpart, and I do agree the 2 blastoffs were worth it.

It's actually kinda funny considering I have all 4 Blast offs now. Only character I have every incarnation of

You know who's fun?

Lockdown. Don't use any other abilities, just keep adding lasers to the field. I've gotten up to 3 simultaneously.

Of course it's not very practical, but you don't do fun and practical in this game. :-P

A few weeks ago I picked up a computer and monitor from a garage sale, it's a Dell Optiplex that's probably about five years old. Figured I would use it as an experimental machine so I don't screw up my main system.

Something I've been wanting to try out for a while was an Android emulator. Decided to go with Nox. It's just under 300mb, which is to be expected as it's basically Android 4.4.2. Ran seamlessly, set up my Google account, installed Earth Wars and there it is!

Resolution is a bit iffy, but that's to be expected when you're upscaling through an analogue connection. Otherwise though, you just navigate with the mouse. Good thing to have when the battery on the tablet gets low. :-P
