[UPDATED] Voice Acting Legend Frank Welker Joins Twitter

UPDATE : After all that, it seems we've been fooled, and many others have been, too. Voice actors Maurice Lamarche and Rob Paulsen have both said that they spoke to Frank Welker himself and confirmed that the twitter account below is unofficial, and not run by Welker.


Frank Welker, one of the most famous voice actors of all time and voice of many Transformers characters throughout the years, has officially joined Twitter! It's long been a talking point between fans on how neither Welker, or the voice of Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen, have a social media presence.
That all changed earlier today with his first post, quoting a tweet from fellow voice actor Billy West!


While the account has not been verified by twitter yet, the outpouring of support from fellow actors, such as Laraine Newman and David Sobolov, indicates that it is in fact run by the legend himself. So pop over, give him a follow, and show some support to the man who made many of our childhoods!

In case you missed the update to our previous story about this topic, we'd like to advise that the twitter account assumed by many to belong to Frank Welker has proven to be hoax.
Voice actors Maurice Lamarche and Rob Paulsen have both reportedly spoken to Welker and confirmed that Frank is not the owner of the account in question, @thefrankwelker.

Some people speculated this was the case, considering the lack of the Twitter "Verified" check mark, but most used the endorsement by other actors as proof.

The hoax tricked many, celebrity and fan alike, but perhaps it just proves people's devotion to the legendary voice actor.
If Frank really does join social media, you'll hear about it here, on Seibertron.com!

The news was initially legit, according to all sources.

Those sources then rectified.
