Join us at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel and Convention Center for
BotCon 2010 June 24-27, 2010!
You can now make your hotel arrangements. Don't delay as the block will fill up fast! Our special BotCon convention rate is $134 per night. This breaks down as $124 per night for your room + a $10 Resort Services fee per room per day. The Resort Services fee includes unlimited high speed internet, bottled water (replenished daily), unlimited local calls, 60 minutes of 800 number calls, and 20 minutes of domestic long distance calls each day. In addition, parking at the hotel will be $5 per day.
Additional information will be available around the first of February including available Convention Packages, Shuttle information and discounted Walt Disney World Park tickets!

Fantastic. Disney World. The opposite of affordable.
I was hoping they could pick a more expensive place to hold an event where you are garaunteed to drop a pantload of money already.
I am going to run this one by comittee (girlfriend, bank account, etc) but I don't see it happening.

Bingo. The worst recession in decades and they decide to have it in the one place that bleeds cash more than any other in the world. I'd be willing to bet attendance this year will be among the worst ever.

Nice!!! Time to start getting stuff in place. I love Disney and Universal, but it's going to be difficult to plan a trip to Disney without my kids.

This is the farthest away it could have been for me while staying on the same continent.
As much as I want to go one of these years, Unless I see a sizable contribution to my bank account I just don't see it happening this year... (yet at least)

Nope. The dolphin is one of the hotels. It is within the confines of the WDW complex, but it is not in either of the parks, although if I remember correctly it is really close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
But being on disney property everything is going to cost a whole lot of scratch, especially food. I would not have chosen to have Botcon inside Disney property for that very reason. There are so many other places that are in Orlando that could host it. Hoepfully we will get somekind of cool aprk discount for attending.

June 26th is my birthday! yes! I declare Brandons 14th birthday the day I went to botcon for the first time.(I live in Pa,there a plane ride)

You see! I told everyone Botcon was going to be in Orlando, I just got the dates wrong. It sucks as I cannot go this time round. I will be leaving for Europe or am supposed to leave for Europe in time to drop off my stuff and then take a 17 hour train ride to Denmark for the Roskilde Music festival. 150 bands over a 10 day period. I could come slightly late for Festival since the beginning are just warm up days, but I might not have a camping place if I do this. Plus it would be so expensive to lug all my stuff for my 2 month European vacation to Florida and then back to Europe, along with any Botcon stuff I might buy. I did it once for the Rhode Island convention, which luckily ended just before I needed to leave for Europe instead of during it, and it was just a complete pain in the ass! Airlines also weren't so strict on extra baggage back then as they are now. I also do not want to spend 134 bucks a night for a room when there are so many other hotels in Orlando where you can get a room for less than 100 bucks a night. Which reminds me, search around and I am sure you will find a much cheaper hotel somewhere close by. There are free shuttles everywhere because of Disney as well, so I would resist paying such prices for a Disney-esque hotel.

Right here in Florida. See you guys there ^^ This will be my first Botcon, and I cannot wait ^^ Good news is, my family lives there, so I do not need to pay for a hotel.
