Another look at Wal*Mart Exclusive Masterpiece Skywarp In Package

The Arker gives us another look at Hasbro's Masterpiece Skywarp in package. While this is nothing new for those who went to San Diego Comic Con 2009 or were following it's subsequent coverage, these pictures give a nice look at the figure for those who missed out. Wal*Mart will be the supplier of this exclusive.

If you're interested in the previous history of this mold, then allow Seibertron.com to inform you! The original Takara Master-Piece 03 Starscream mold can be viewed here. It was repainted into a more 'cartoon-accurate' version, which was the first time the Starscream mold was distributed by Hasbro. Takara also repainted Starscream into Skywarp, and Thundercracker. Hasbro's version of Skywarp slightly differs from the Takara version, as the paint scheme has been altered to be, you guessed it, more cartoon accurate.

MP Convoy can beat 20th Anniversary's butt any day of the week, even without his trailer.

Finally!! I am so excited!!

I just hope that Wal-mart here gets it.. seriously, when MP starscream came out it never surfaced here in my part of Virginia! I went to every Wal-mart in my area 3 times a week, just to catch it.. for like 5 months straight, always searching.. but never getting him..

so I just hope Hasbro does a better job of helping Wal-mart distribute him to the stores..coming out that close to X-mas makes it even more of a likely possibility i won't get my grubby hands on it..

Around this part of Virginia, we have tons of 35 to 50 year old guys who scalp the local stores and sell the figures on eBay at a 40% markup! I know, I ran into a few of them during the 1st Transformers movie, when Bumblebee was the hottest toy...

I also ran into them a few times collecting Star Wars Episode 1 figures, Marvel Legends, and yes, yes, even Stinkfas!!

i hope wally sells it for < $60. That'd be nice. Not saying it's not worth that price, but everyone could use a lil price break.

Also, this would never happen but what if H released a chase variant clear purple or clear white Skywarp as a nod to G1?? How nuts would that be?!?!!? I'd want it but it'd be hard to afford -if I saw it I'd have to buy it though before it got scalped out.

I have had a quick compare with MP Skywarp ( at work so cant spend too much time looking ) and I dont see any major changes.

The MP stickers now seem to be pain apps and is the purple a slightly different shade?

What are the actual differences?

It's a vastly different shade of purple, the classic lilacy purple used on the original toy instead of the dark pink that I despise, and of course the original toy's style of wing stripes. I really hope that they are actually painted on and not stickers, because I really hate stickers. In all honesty I'd wish they'd abandon the lilac as well and go for a nice deep purple instead.

As it happens, I'll be leaving this one MISB because of the clear front packaging and it can go straight on display so there'll hopefully be less chance of anything bad happening to any stickers.

I guess it would probably have the rounded off wings like MP Starscream as well. I'm going to take a guess and say that the black finish isn't going to be as nice as Takara's MP6, but I won't be able to say for sure until the product is in my hands.

Thanks. So there isnt a great deal of difference then. I have both Starscreams due to the massive difference between them but not so sure about Skywarp.

I hope this one makes it to Canada, Starscream didn't. (or at least I never saw it.)

Now your speaking my language!! A deep dark clear purple.. hmmm maybe a medium Clear purple, with some white outlines all over it..like someone came in and drew him, and in the center of the body is a slight spray of faded purple and white.. like he just teleported..!!

awesome!!

great idea man!

I wouldnt say it was wasted. I have a very nice totally black Skywarp ( jet mode ) that looks awesome, like a proper model jet. That is why I didnt apply the stickers.

As much as I love G1 I think the clean look is better.

I want! Too bad these Walmart exclusives tend to be hard to come by/not released in Canada. Perhaps it'll cause a cost decrease for the Takara release and I can pick and choose my favorite. :p

Skywarp has my favourite colour scheme of the G1 Seekers so I think I'm going to go for this one if I can find it. I'll probably have to order online.

Will get! Too bad it's $60. Starscream was $50.

Must be opposite day when it's Hasbro releasing figures that are toon accurate instead of Takara. 8-}
