Botcon.com- Brian Savage, Transformers Collector's Club Director and Organizer, updates us with more information about Botcon 2009, this time hotel accommodations and convention center information.

Happy New Year!

We are excited to officially announce that you can now make your reservations for BotCon '09 online.

To make your hotel reservations, go to BotCon.com and follow the link to the Sheraton Pasadena Hotel.

BotCon '09 will be at the new Pasadena Convention Center. The Sheraton is attached to the center. Hotel rooms will go very quickly and they have a limited number of rooms with double beds so next week we will have a second hotel block available at a near by property that has additional double bed rooms.

We will send out another update after we receive the electronic reservation link.

It will be several weeks before we have the registration forms available so keep checking BotCon.com for future updates!

Thanks and see you there!

Brian

Botcon 2009 is scheduled for May 28th-31st in Pasadena, California.

More Bots. More News. More Awesome.

Yeah, looks like we'll be selling out this hotel pretty fast, wonder when they'll announce the second one.

Is it just me or is it ridiculous that they want you to pay 13 bucks a day just park at their hotel?

Am I the only one who gets a dead link when attempting to book?

You can't book online anymore for the whole event because Thursday is already sold out. I went through the same thing yesterday evening and had to call the hotel and book a room outside the convention rate block. Thursday night is going for $179 now for a single king bed, not sure about double beds, but according to their Reservations Dept, the convention rate is no longer available for Thursday.

Has anybody else taken a gander at the floor plans and pictures of the convention center itself? Apparently, it's still under construction/expansion with completion scheduled for Spring 09. So we're either walking into an almost finished construction project, or (hopefully and most likely) a new and improved never-before-used convention center that looks totally badass in the floorplans and pictures! Forgive the double post / bump, but this excites me to no end!

Hey guys I live in the Pasadena Area. There are a few hotels in Arcadia and Monrovia. These cities are about a 10-15 minute drive to Pasadena. Here are a few hotels in Arcadia, Embassy Suites (626) 445-8525, Hilton Garden INN (626)574-6900, and Hampton Inn (626) 574-5600. Good and I hope to see you there.

Can you tell us if there are any inexpensive eating establishments/ grocery stores/ convenience stores - within walking distance to the convention?

It depends how far you are willing to walk. Colorado Blvd. has many restaurants and bars. A good amount of them have meals between $8-15. On Colorado Blvd. there is a Ralphs market which has food at a reasonable cost and there is a Jack in the Box and a Carl Jr. The only problem with the market and the Jack/Carls is that they are about a half a mile from the convention center. I don’t mind walking a half a mile but many people do. I go back to work tomorrow but within the next couple of weeks I will try to post some information on specific restaurants, prices and distances.
