A small update comes our way via site sponsor Robot Kingdom and their official Facebook page, featuring the Takara Tomy Transformers Encore release of Encore God Fire Convoy from Car Robots - known to anglophone audiences as Omega Prime, from the Robots in Disguise series - the combined form of Ultra / God Magnus and Fire Convoy / Optimus Prime: we have images of the box that the figure will potentially be released with!

The set is currently scheduled for a 24th March release date in Japan, so we should see it appearing at the end of this week on Japanese social media and toy blogger feeds. You can check it all out below for now, and stay tuned for more updates as they appear!

This is great for anyone that doesn't have these figures already. But, if you have the original, that price is a real deal breaker, sword or not.

I have the original releases of them, so I don't really need this, but I will be honest, I was never able to figure out the instructions for combining them.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon Car Robots at an import shop a good year before they were released domestically, and I still have a lot of the OG Takara packaging. It's super cool that they stuck with the original package design for this release. Really gives it a nice throwback feel.

Good to know they are staying true to the line. I hope that means they have other plans for it.

I would love to own this (That non-chrome chest on Prime is great IMO, and I'd love to have the sword) but that price...It'd be cheaper to go buy the originals.

Bought the original Super Fire Convoy and God Magnus from an importer back around 1999 or 2000; and if I recall correctly paid about $50 for each or for you math majors $100 total, which accounting for inflation over the past 18 years would put the value of a dollar at $1.50 today. $100 extra for a sword seems a little steep.

I wonder what happened to those March delays we were hearing about? A lot of people got notices about March Transformers delays (I did not), and yet it seems like everything is shipping on time. Not worried about, I'm looking forward to this coming next week.

If encore is still going I would rather the older harder to get G1 japanese figure such as Overlord, Grandus, Dia Atlas, and Metrotitan.

A number of Hong Kong based Transformers fans, meeting up in the Hobbymizer discussion group on Facebook, have been sharing in-package and in-bubble images of the latest Encore release from Takara Tomy Transformers, showing off one of arguably the best engineered combining toys of the franchise, hailing back from the 2000s: God Fire Convoy / Omega Prime!

That sword they show in the pictures looks a lot like the perfect effect matrix sword

I know the original sword was a partial remold of the G1 Jap Fort/Grand Max sword with a different hilt. It looks like the hilt designed for the Fort/Grand/brave Max (G1) is included with this set so I wonder if the hilt is able to be swapped now to use the sword on both figures.

The original God Fire Convoy 2-pack that came with the Super God Sword originally included both the new hilt for God Fire Convoy and the original Fort Max hilt, so this could just be following in suit with that original release's inclusion of both hilts.
