I wish Guido Guidi would come to AA, I want his signature and a Print of this design.

Also, I wonder if they asked for his permission, but I guess he dosen't have the rights to it anyway since it was commissioned work for Hasbro.

Not really impressed with this figure but for 60 bucks I may just pick him up to support these guys.

Still looks pretty clunky to me. They really ought to get a better prototype done up before they start promoting and putting up preorders. Regardless, I don't need another Soundwave.

It's a cool conceot, but I think it needs more time on the drawing board to come up with something good for it.

And yeah, I think we'll have to wait and see the finished product... and read reviews... before we REALLY know how the quality is. I don't think the test shots in the photos are necessarily indicative of the quality. I saw some different dark grey pressings online that looked more crisp and detailed than this white milky version. I'm guessing the finished product will look a little better... not to mention the blue will help a lot.

I agree about the colors. Nothing looks good in these colors. Sight is the most easily fooled sense. In this case the sight of the crappy colors may make the rest appear to be crappy. Or not.... Guess we'll see in due time.

As of right now I'm feeling music label soundwave. Wasn't there also another "classic" style 3rd party take on soundwave in an article a while ago? I cant find it but it was a silhouette that looked promising.

I have one on preorder in the hopes that the final product will be much more awesome.

I will cancel it if it's not.

It still looks like he has no knees and his elbows are just under his shoulders. It looks very flimsy as well.

Something fantastic will have to happen between now and then for me to decide I want it.

I like it.

But no paint, no preorder.

Decent paint-app gets my money.

I have a feeling this thing has clearance wrtten all over it. I'm leaning toward passing altogether, but maybe I'll reconsider if it reaches half price.

BTS Toys has updated their website with more prototype images of their upcoming BTS-04 Sonicron. This version of Soundwave is based on unused concept art by Guido Guidi. Images mirrored below.

Hmmm. Suffers a bit from MP Megatron leg syndrome. Also I'd prefer the screw holes on the right arm to be on the back of the arm in robot mode. Otherwise, looks pretty good.

Does look better in the second set of pics, but ML Soundwave is still the better figure so there's no real place for this one in my collection. Still only a clearance consideration.

he has no knees. the legs are horrible, the head looks stupid, and the guns are too small as is the body. but he has no knees!!!!!! i thought they would make a good classics soundwave but nooooooo!!! stick to music label people.

I loved the music label series, though they seem to be missing a little detail next to all my Classics/Henkei. I think that one reason may be what has me considering this one. That and the ability to put a cassette in his chest.

I only wish we'd have seen a cassette (and/or USB style) condor/Rumble/Frenzy/Ratbat.

Hmm, looks better in these pics indeed, but it does seem he has fairly poor articulation. ML Soundwave all the way.

I love the idea, but the sculpt kind of bothers me. It looks great except for the legs and waist. I especially love the speakers on the legs, but I can't put my finger on it on why the legs bother me. The waist is just too small, I am not sure how the body could be tapered into it though.

Proceeds to stand Sonicron on the BACK row beside Titanium Soundwave hiding his lower bits.

I am a huge Soundwave fan, have nearly every incarnation of him to date... This is a huge PASS for me tho. He just doesnt look correct. Face is wretched.

I'm just not feeling this at all. I'm actually fine with WFC Soundwave so far as the character placeholder. Still waiting to see what PE's will look like.

I like it, but it's redundant unless the colours are different from Soundwave Blue and Soundblaster Black.

I like the Galaxyforce style head better. Looks meaner!

Yeah, I DO actually like BOTH head sculpts... I just wish they were sharpened up a bit. They look like they're sculpted out of clay, a bit... especially in the crest of the modern one.

The elbows, or lack thereof, are the deal breaker for me. But, I'm not sure I m going to like the PE version either. Glad I bit on the ML version.

You know, the more I look at it the less I like it. It suffers from the same things that piss me off about G1 Soundwave, it has the same shitty arms, the same leg joints and the same shitty proportions plus the same shitty articulation, just with more detail.

I wish PE would show us their version so that I can decide which to get.
Don'T feel like breaking up my planed WFC display just to have a classics Soundwave.

I really feel like I should be more excited about this guy. He looks like Soundwave. It appears there are multiple head possibilities. Alot of G1 goodness throughout, AND he holds G1 tapes. Yet, alas, I think I'm gonna pass. Just not....something.

I will be ordering him to be the generation/classic soundwave of my collection.I hope repro labels make a sticker set for him.

Exactly. Grouped with his fellow Soundwaves... kinda in the back where his knees and waist don't show... he'll look great! (Putting Titanium Soundwave WAY in the back.)

Kinda like what I did with my G1 cars... Ratchet and Ironhide kinda tuck behind with the 3rd party heads peeking over. You don't wanna see those guys knees either.

I love music label soundwave... but I guess my two minor complaints.... can't hold cassettes, and just a little lack of sculpted detail when compared with the rest of the Classics bots. (Even disregarding his smooth ipod-esque exterior)

Mind you, that's probably the most perfect we'll have for the near future. I do recommend him.

Yeah, he's still a bit too G1-esque clunky to fit in with Classics, IMO.

Disagree with you all on Label Soundwave. He's perfect. Exactly like a Soundwave should be. The only thing wrong with him is that he can't fit the tapes into his chest cavity.

As for too blocky .... Universe Inferno can give him a run for his money.

I have to disagree. He's a perfect update in look, alt mode and articulation. Some fans even asked Hasbro at conventions if they could sell him with the electronics removed as Classics Soundwave.

I agree...his paint apps are too nice for Classics. He's a better fit with Henkei/United figs.
