Our very own ZenPrime has come across this interesting thread on CNN.com.

The article states that:
Some of the year's hottest toys could be sold out weeks before Christmas, industry watchers warned.

That's bad news for parents. But its really bad news for the $22 billion U.S. toy industry, which has been struggling with stagnant growth.

Holiday gift-buying in the final two months of the year account for as much as 80 percent of the industry's annual profits and sales.

Beefed-up product testing following the recent spate of toy recalls is putting a crimp in the flow of inventory to store shelves, said Chris Byrnes, an independent toy consultant.

Also to blame for the predicted shortfalls are the early price cuts made by stores such as Walmart, as we Reported Earlier, which threaten to eat into December sales figures.

This has gotta be a joke.... I thought new shipment of toys was gonna come out FOR CHRISTMAS! ......THERE ARE ANY TOYS OUT THERE AS IS! (atleast for regular retail price) WTF man.

Wii was sold out for like eight months after launch (haven't looked around here in awhile), and are still selling well. The Wii isn't a flash in the pan, it's probably gonna be the main console of this generation.

Now I really wish I got all of those Wave 1 toys before the movie was released.

And i'm guessing that Wave 2 toys like Cliffjumper, and all those other ones are going to take ages to come to Canuckland.

The only things I want from now til the new Universe line are Incinerator,First Strike Optimus & Commander Cody/Turbo Tank. I have a feeling I'm not gonna have any trouble finding them.

This only means to me that the TF shortage is likely to continue.

Lame, because I'd really like to have Dreadwing, Longarm, '08 Bumblebee, and maybe even Arcee by the time I turn 33.

Good, maybe I will finally be able to sell my extra Leader Prime on Craigslist before the holiday. Wasn't even getting any hits last time listing it at retail with no sales tax, was starting to get me worried.

Well the only thing I want at this point is MP Starscream, and that'll likely be a shelf warmer since kids'll think of movie Screamer and not G1.

This is exactly why I start Christmas shopping now. I already picked up quite a few Transformers already. You NEVER get any of the good stuff if you wait until November/December to buy.

Well..I went to a import shop and ordered most of the Deluxes and Leader Brawl. The bad part is that I have to wait until January. The good part is that 5 seconds ago I cancelled all my preorders and orders at BBTS and got myself MP Skywarp :grin:
