It's not. We've got all the new DOTM toys here at Toys 'R' Us in Okayama (including the Takara-exclusive Optimus Prime), and Sideswipe is as ugly and unpainted as the Hasbro release.

You would not believe how many ROTF Sideswipes and Sideways I had to look through back at the time of the second movie to find decent specimens that did not have a lot of annoying black marks and scratchs all over their silver paint that I could live with.
Granted, I'm not intending to buy DOTM Sideswipe (maybe if I have some extra spare cash at a later date), and am instead holding out for the Walmart exclusive racecar-painted Sidearms Sideswipe as I think he'd make a nice addition next to the other two Wrecker Autobots released so far.
