Online retailer Hot Topic has just posted two new Funko figures exclusive to their website. These Limited Edition Vinyl figures are Funko Transformers Metallic Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. They are both limited to 2000 pieces, hand numbered, and retail for just under $40 USD.
These are the same molds used for the Funko limited edition set of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Hikari vinyl figures, which were limited to 3000 pieces.

They keep making stuff like this so somebody must like it. The question is why ?

Especially when these are the same molds used previously. The word "limited" here is really being pushed to the edge of it's definition.

Well, the paint on these makes them look less disgusting than the originals?
So people did buy the originals, I ... I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

I will post this in other places too just so that people see it, but it turns out figures like these are super popular in Asia and Japan, as can be seen with them being among the top preorders on Japan exclusive sites:

They should just paint TF characters on bricks and sell them for $1000. Then they can break some of the painted bricks in half and sell them as "busts" for twice the price.

You can make a page on Etsy and do that.
