Did Hasbro Really Issue This Statement?

In a word: No. What follows was a clever little jab at current events in the fandom written by a fan:

"All attendees are to be aware that only Official Hasbro products are to be allowed in. Anyone wearing a homemade Transformers t-shirt will be asked to leave the premises. Any merchandise for sale such as Marvel Transformers comics will be removed due to license problems, and they also contradict current brand usage. A version of TF:TM dubbed to replace the phrase "H*t R*d" with the accurate character name of Rodimus Major will be screened. All toy dealers must be aware that they can only sell figures and accessories that conform to current toy safety standards and licenses.
Remember, we´re fans just like you,
Sincerely,
Hasbro PLC"
This "statement" has been making its way around the boards today. And, for once, I´m going to squash a rumor instead of spreading one. This is NOT true. It´s biting sarcasm for the most part, but becomes an obvious joke when it makes mention of editing Hot Rod´s name. Don´t worry, dealers will still be selling Takara products (and prototypes) and you won´t have to remove your home-made Transformer shirt. Hasbro would not have the authority to stop dealers from selling Non-Hasbro products (with the exception of bootlegged G1 tapes).
