Looks like a decent deal if you don't want to wait for a price markdown.

On the promotions? Can't. Says in the fine print SINGLES is not good with other offers.

So EA offers "free" shipping...but then includes, sales tax, is it because I'm in California?, or is that for all US residents?, even with the $20 off, its still not worth it, There's a couple on eBay that are $105 final price.

Nah...I'm not a big fan of novelty items. CW is what just brought me back after an 8 year drought and selling off my entire Original Series-Energon toys back in 2007. At that time I thought I'd never purchase any TF toys ever again. Still...now that I think about it, It might look nice as a background for the shelves I intend to build in my sons room for our UW/CW collection, if I can keep him from destroying it until then...

BBTS now has Liokaiser available too, for $129.99. A little more than the promo deal at Entertainment Earth, but the same as the list price. I wonder how they were able to pull that off...

It's exclusive in the US to EE - it isn't an Exclusive in Asia it's a retail item in singapore for example. so they likely just ordered their stock from an asian wholesaler - not unlike the situation with the Takara Boxed sets they eventually showed up internationally even though some were supposed to be exclusives.. which has me wondering if the same with happen with Valdigus /Baldigus/Ruination too.
I like the look of that set so I'd like to have an option that was close to $100 and no the near $200 Takara want you to buy it for.

They also had the Toys R Us Exclusive Masterpiece Bumblebee in stock for a couple months for quite a bit more than Toys was selling it for, so they have some way of obtaining these items.

I got my order in yesterday. The $20 off code and diorama and stuff made it basically impossible to skip. Wanted this guy anyway, so win-win for House Dagon here.

Boy would you have to be some kind of packaging obsessive to buy a Hasbro MP Bumblebee for double the price of a Takara one or for the same price as you can buy Multiple KO's.

The Target exclusive Platinum Autobot Heroes box set is now available online for $150 USD. This set is part of this year's theme of the Transformers Movie 30th anniversary and includes redecos of Generations Kup, Blurr, Ultra Magnus (with Minimus Ambus), Springer and Arcee. You can see many images of this set from our previous convention galleries.

I'm curious how many people exactly would be interested in this set now. Ultra Magnus has the exact same paint apps as in CW, there's a far, faaaar superior version of Blurr thanks to TR (and thanks to Takara, also available in a much more movie-accurate deco), and we're getting a more G1-accurate version of Kup. That leaves Arcee, whom you can get a very similar deco of from Takara; and Springer, who... doesn't look half bad, but the Generations version still looks better.

So, factoring in the price of the figures, it's about a $30 premium for the paint jobs. I'll wait until they're on sale.

I actually have a couple friends getting this. They don't buy figures by waves and so this set actually works for those who wan to get almost the entire autobot cast.
The magnus different. While the layout is the same he has Takaras more rich colors as well as the white portions being white and not that cream color white.

I am not getting it because the decos are not different enough to warrant this purchase and I preffer the autobot cast I made using TR Blurr (and hopefully with a new Kup). The Platinum Sweeps and Dinobots had decos evoking cool sets that were way out of my reach but this one doesnt really give me much that's new. Though for those who dont have these molds yet, this is an awesome set to get and its priced reasonably enough. Its not a deal but its not price gouging either as other sets have been.
Also, magnus is different, you can see it in the gallery images.

I stared at CW Magnus and Platinum Magnus for ages and couldn't see a single difference. Minimus has different (read: better) apps for sure, but I couldn't see any difference between the Magnuses. Magni?

Magnus has the same shiny paint treatment that the other four in the set have, and has several tiny light details his knees/shoulders/etc. painted in that weren't painted on the Hasbro CW release but which were painted in the Takara Legends release.Kurona wrote:william-james88 wrote:Kurona wrote:I'm curious how many people exactly would be interested in this set now. Don't forget. Arcee's missing her guns in the pack.

Which is an extremely weird omission for a movie-accurate pack, since her guns are the ones she had in the movie and the swords are the ones she explicitly did not have until 20 years later.
