First Look at Age of the Primes Commander Onslaught and Voyager Sideways

How do you make the legs voyagers but yet make the combiner look stumpy

It's all because Bruticus's cartoon model itself was so stumpy. People forget just how stumpy he was in the G1 cartoon.

I'm looking forward to see how AotP Sideways will compare with the Armada original.

Blast Off apparently attaches backwards relative to the G1 toy and animation model, so we'll have to wait another 9 years for HasTak to take yet another pass at the "perfect" Bruticus.

And yes, I'll be collecting all of this one anyway, just in case that doesn't happen.

And despite how many Junkions we've gotten lately, I do hope Sideways gets repainted into a handful more. The headmaster feature unlocks all kinds of character possibilities, though assuming it isn't TR compatible, we'd need 3rd Parties to step up for a variety of characters that no official retool would bother with, rather than just new faces from Shapeways.

I have also had slight misgivings about the proportions of the shins, but that won't stop me from collecting the whole team, if I can .

Sideways looks great, and I'm glad the combined Headmaster gimmick is included. I wonder why we haven't seen the Headmasters in action on the main robot.

Onslaught looks to be the BEST of the Combiner leaders. The base mode actually looks like the OG toy, complete with the ability for Brawl to roll on it. The skeleton seems really good, the least naked of the three. I thought we might get more of a Constructicon styling from it, but I guess not.

All the complaints on social media and we know six months from now, he's gonna be hailed as the best one yet.

To me, he looks fine. I wasn't expecting him to be perfect because for that, we'd have to break the laws of physics. I want to see side-by-sides with the others.

While I would have preferred the ends of Sideways' batons/tailpipes be yellow-orange like the original toy as opposed to boring grey throughout, that is admittedly a nitpick and the rest of him looks nigh-perfect. He can hang out with his Cybertron self Noisemaze and scheme some nonsense, love it.

Onslaught/Bruticus' colors are gonna take a bit of getting used to after being used to basically every color scheme of Bruticus except the G1 cartoon colors, but the frame system keeping it from being 100% gray will definitely help. Leg proportions looks a bit off, but I swear people said similar things about both Superion and Devastator before they hit in-hand, so we'll see how it goes. Gonna preorder anyway, Combaticons are my favorite combiner crew and I nabbed Vortex already so I kinda have to even though I missed the preorders on Blast Off and Brawl, whoops...
